I'm subbing so I can "stay up to date" on comments, input, and pics! Going to swing by AutoZone on my way home since there is one not too far from where I live, so I can pick this up, and do over a warm weekend since it seems like it's going to be warming up real soon!

Especially when it says on the can, in the instructions, to clean it with a little water. It does say on there to cover electrical components, but I think the only "electrical" thing that's really exposed are the batter cables... I think.

Planning on just going for it as well when I do it!

I used Simple Green HD cleaner undiluted and it worked really well. I bought a gallon of it for around 20 bucks and its amazing. I like having one product you can use on everything - bathrooms, siding, floors, fabric stains, camper, truck, boat, engine bay, stainless steel appliances, BBQ, etc etc etc. It's replaced everything but my bar of Irish Springs. It cleaned up my floor liners really nicely too.

    Bone Stock.Why mess with perfection?Except...
Used Ajax dish washing liquid and water in a pump up sprayer to clean my engine bay and underside of hood. With engine slightly warm, as in able to touch it anywhere, sprayed the Ajax and water all over it, protecting nothing from the soap and water. Used a soft bristle brush on the stubborn spots. Let it sit 2 or 3 minutes then rinsed it off with a garden hose using a semi-strong mist setting on the nozzle. Still wasn't clean enough to suit me so I repeated the same process. After the second time it was very clean. Used my leaf blower to dry it off some then ran the engine to finish drying. After the engine cooled, I sprayed Gunk engine dressing all over the engine. Looked good. Too greasy. Attracted dust. Next time I'll use something else instead of Gunk after I clean it. Any suggestion?

I know this is an old post but I felt like I could provide some insight on the wheel wells. I have always wondered how dealers make vehicles look like they've never been driven....I keep an extremely clean vehicle and always spray the wheel wells down with wheel cleaner and scrub them with a brush...it cleans them but they still stay stained and faded...I now have the secret...U ready for it???

    upload_2016-5-3_14-47-48.jpg

You don't even have to clean it each time... just spray this all over everything in the wheel wells and they will look brand new. It also helps to make it easier to clean next time. Doesn't let the dirt stick to the wheel wells...usually a good spray will clean it the next time. Spraying all 4 wheel wells only adds an extra 5 min to the wash job.

Pam, works also. When we were going to take our dirt bikes out in the mud. Spray it with Pam first and the mud washes off really easy. And I'm talking sticky clay mud!

If you just spray under the hood of your truck with the hose every other time you wash it the engine will stay pretty clean. When it does start getting to the point where the water doesn't cut it anymore a little Simple Green works. I dilute the Simple Green 60/40 with water.
