I am American and say we can't ignore the advice of other nations, provided it is well considered and polite. Being close-minded doesn't help us since we now operate on a global scale. Learning from the enemy is what makes your blade sharper (I'm not saying Canada is an enemy but I thought this sounded cool to say and it fit )

It's the approach to the conversation we all need to be mindful of.

I've said this before in other threads, but I feel it bears reiterating as some folks have taken to anonymously ragging me (you know what I'm talking about).

For one, I am not against gun ownership or anti-gun in any way. Far from it. I own firearms and I am well-trained in how to use them. I feel it is the right of an American citizen to own arms. I feel that firearms are useful tools when used properly and like any potentially dangerous tool, deserve respect and proper training.

Rarely do I argue blanket-statement 2nd Amendment facets because I think it's a.) pointless and b.) stupid and a waste of people's time.

I do argue individual circumstances, though, and I do feel that allowing persons to carry onto school property, or in conjunction with a school event (especially where students may be present) is a BAD IDEA. Not only does it actually increase the likelihood that more people get hurt, but it sets a horrible example for maintaing discipline in a community that experiences a tremendous amount of trouble in that area to begin with.

So, yes, having an armed member of the school board might have ended the standoff a little earlier, but I still think that letting people carry firearms into a school board meeting is an awful idea.

It looked like chopped pepper that someone accidentally dropped and egg on, so they covered it with cheese as a disguise.

I have a lot of Mexican friends, and surprisingly, this is an accurate way of describing some of their cuisine.

Jose: "Fuck! I dropped an egg on that!"

Fernando: "Just throw some more cheese and a jalapeno on it. Nobody'll notice."

I think we may have missed the events leading up to the shooting.

how is that close minded? people only pull this kinda crap because they think they can get away with it. if every good man was armed he would have never even gotten off a shot and he would have been put down. There is never a bad place for people to be able to defend them selfs and the people who cant defend them selfs from crazy people like this. I would rather have a shoot out at a school then a one sided slaughter!
