you in bear country? mountain lion? :D

...my presumption is that you live in an area that is virtually devoid of felonious crime... handguns are not a problem, ...as always, ...it's people who cause problems - we have pockets of cultural/moral rot here across the US, even in rural areas (crystal meth, etc.) where being drugged up and/or being savages is endemic - even if you don't live in/near these areas, ...these "areas" can move in close to you, ...and they have wheels too! urban hoodrats, "section 8", gangs, etc.. in fact gangs are the cause of the vast majority of violent crime - why should their shenanigans preclude my right to own handguns? answer: it shouldn't, ...it doesn't...

come to america for a look-see some time, ...see the sights, travel the road, ...but whatever you do, don't betray your instincts and keep your head on a swivel ;)

yes i know, ...it's just that you always squeeze into these threads and infuse semantics that imply that <insert gun topic of the day> is radical in some way - i.e. saying "i don't feel the need to...", etc. so, i'm on the case, ...dropping bombs in a subtle way is legal and all, but i'm gonna call you on it ;)

remember, if we are going to make <insert gun topic of the day> about "need", we would be remiss not to bring up everything else in modern society: i.e. a "need to have a car that is capable of breaking the speed limit"? absurdity can be rebutted w/ absurdity... ;)

So Jim, does any of this violence ever spill over out around the Orange Co Convention Ctr area?

yep, i saw that :D ...and was pointing out the "pattern"... i also attempted to draw a contrast between what life "may" be like in most of canada to what it's like in the US.. hopefully it was of some use to understanding the differences... ;)

You might want to go out in two's with both people carrying to be sure. Citizens need to start meeting with police reps and figure out something to stop these idiots. Also make sure your house and yard is lit up at night. The more places with lights at night the less chance for them to hide. If you can also put surviellance cameras outside to watch your yard, they don't cost all that much.

If more people did these things gangs would realize they are done for.

I carry a Glock 33 for protection and have a Mossberg Defender in the house loaded with 00 buck for home protection. 911 will get you a thirty minute (maybe) response from LEO's. Better be prepared to cover your own butt if the need arises, hopefully it never will.

Any gun is dangerous to the human body! Therefore any gun you are comfortable with and shoot well will defend you. People say a .32 acp is not enough gun to carry, but how many want to get shot in the chest by one? Any gun in the hands of a well-trained person is good protection. Sure the sound of a .32 may not scare you like the sound of a .45 but the .32 has put many in a grave.
