Of course guns are dangerous.....but like the other night when someone tried to break into the house im staying at, through the window of our room, and my lady couldn't wake me up. A gun would have probably helped us to sleep much better the last few nights.

Shes at the range now getting hours for her permit. I would have one but I travel too much and don't want to risk getting it stolen and used for anything other than protection. Usually I just carry my switchblade or butterfly. I fully support the ownership of guns.

I own many different firearms, none of which are owned for protection, In Canada is it next to impossible to get a permit to carry a weapon and even owning a handgun take a bunch of hoops and there are many restrictions on them, however if I was in a situation that I needed it to save my life the thought has crossed my mind to use it. There have been a few cases were a citizen has used a firearm for defense and no been convicted, though normally after a lengthy court battle. I hope that one day I can have the ability to carry when I am out and about not because I feel the need to be macho by carrying a firearm but as another member said it is a great equalizer.

If you have any questions or want a Canadian point of view, pm me or ask the questions here and I'll get you the best answer I can.

Some high class folks right there...

Its people like that that keep the stereotypes alive, OMFG.
    Were they speaking english?? Haha.

I was also surprised that nobody got shot during the making of that video on accident the way everybody is swinging their guns around with a finger on the trigger while its pointed at themselves or somebody else with a drink in the other hand.

    I use mine for fun.

I carry a M&P9 fullsize, and sometimes my VTAC if i dont have my can on it.

I use my krink's as my primary fighting weapon. I run them in courses, and run them anytime i hit the range. I figure if my life is gonna depend on it, i'm going to be damn good with it.

I'm still a smidge slow with rapid reloading, but i'm getting faster. Hopefully my midwest handguards show up so i can mount my T1's and Magpul AFG's.

A gun themed thread that could go "political" that hasn't been closed ???

Be careful not to say anything political so this thread doesn't get closed.

Go ahead and drop the F-bomb all you want. Be as racist or sexist as you want. Criticize any religion or lack of religion. These are over-looked and allowed.

I have been around guns most of my life and I'm soon to be 54. I hunt, shoot skeet and target shoot. I also reload. Guns for protection? Maybe so but I just like to shoot! :) Tim
