LOL... no, I was into Smiths back then- 28s, 27s, 57s (I think that's right- 41 mag, 6" nickle), etc. Colts just didn't feel quite right- I wear an XXL glove.
The name is my CB handle, a waterski, and a mountain bike I had... generally all from the late 70s. The name just kinda stuck.

i've got several shotguns and rifles all used to hunting and protection... as far as protection, i wouldn't even hesitate to blast some pile of crap back out my front door, IMHO one story is always better than two, and that story had better be yours! Guns are great, people who abuse them for robbery, gang, etc., are not.

So Canada and NJ you must keep guns locked up at all times. How would you get caught if you didnt obey this law? I would think that if you were smart about it there wouldnt be any problem with keeping a gun hidden for emergency situations.

That's how it is here in MA. I've got a CCW and permit to carry but if I ever used a weapon on somebody I'm most likely going to be arrested, tried by the police and then sued by the bad guy's family. Our laws here say if somebody breaks into your home you don't HAVE TO RUN AWAY and can legally defend yourself, but only up to your door frame. If you go out on your porch forget it, that's outside your house. Of course, to use a weapon inside I'd need to either be sleeping with it on me or have it locked up, since it's either completely locked or in direct control (on your body) or you're breaking the law and could have your permit taken from you. Hard to believe the revolution started in this state.

Back to the original question, I use mine mainly for targets, occasionally for hunting, and wear one while I'm at home until I go to bed. I may be paranoid but I've got my axe next to the bed, and a ball bat downstairs.

My wife wasn't totally opposed to guns, she just didn't see the point in owning one until her mother was attacked, beaten, and robbed by a crack head. She gave him all her money, jewlery, and the keys to her car but apparently that wasn't enough. Had she been armed and properly trained to use that firearm, she wouldn't still be going thru reconstructive facial surgery to this day. Not trying to scare anybody or spew out some pro-gun propaganda, just sharing what I think is a totally logical reason why every law-abiding citizen should own, and be properly trained to own a firearm. "An armed society is a polite society" -Best quote ever.

Nice..eh I'd go with novelty. I think more along the lines of, affordability, how easy to conceal etc and the DE isn't any of those.

It's nice in COD MW :)

That's if you could score a head shot. With low light and the stress of the whole situation, you are better off going for the chest. DE are a novelty. A well placed shot with a .380 will do better than a hand canon you cant hit the broad side of the barn with any day.

First and foremost- since when is a handgun a jewelry accessory? Personally, and no offense intended to anyone, my first inclination is to laugh my ass off at any gold plated, ivory or MOP handled weapon. And Desert Eagles are just bulky, cumbersome, and , in .50AE, uncomfortable weapons. Fun for a couple of rounds, maybe, but like a .223 pistol- the fun wears away fast.
Even the one nickle plated weapon I owned, a Smith .41 mag revolver, was a mistake I regretted since I bought it.
