It seems funny to me that AR. has the most liberal gun laws in the country however when that shooting went on no one was around to shoot that ass hole!!!!

There should be a third or forth option.
    Competition or Target Practice.
I have several and I carry one for protection but I like to target practice as well.

Man that is a shame Too bad some one couldn't have been there to blow him away and save the state a ton of money. Thanks for letting me know that there was someone around Only wish he could have beat the cops.

i have taurus 9mm at home with hollow points locked and loaded in my apartment, i feel terrible for anyone thinking they have the balls to try and hurt me and my family. that being said i hope and pray i never have to open fire, most of the time people down here fire low or wide just to scare usually the better choice anyways, no one gets hurt and the crook learns a lesson without losing their life, mostly just stupid mixed up kids who break in anyways. great power= great responsibility.

home protection is always best left to a 12 gauge with buck shot in it along with a tactical set up, low penetration so no risk of hurting family or neighbors and most of the time just chambering a shell will send anybody running like hell, best gun is the one you never have to use, but if you are dead set on a handgun for storage ability id say springfield 1911 .45 with low velocity rounds, lots of stopping power but is less likely to go ripping through intruders and other houses

Just took my CWP class last week.... if you have to pull your gun, you shoot to kill.

You need to hit what you are aiming at. When you pull the trigger you need to know your target and what's behind your target. If you fire a shot like that, you could injure or kill an innocent person.

1)why is it best left to a 12ga with a tactical set up?
2)racking a round gives up your tactical advantage and lets the dirtbag know where you are

    try again

I've got a 9mm in the nightstand for protection. F.lli Tanfoglio Parbellum. I love thieves so much, I offer them free hollow points, with free custom installation.

Seriously though, I hope I never have to use it. It's there though if I need it, and I'll be damned if I'm caught unprepared.

in your previous post you talk about shooting low, or wide to scare off the perp...but in this post you say use a shotgun so your not shooting through walls... get your story straight.

x2 I dont know why people thing racking a shotgun makes bad guys go running :notsure: I mean, how many people have actually racked a shotgun at the sight of an intruder? If your gonna keep a shotgun by the bed you might as well keep it loaded so your not fumbling with it when your life may be depending on it.

Wow there is so much bad data here I don't know where to start. Not only the chambering a round myth which completely gives up the element of surprise and your position but the myth of overpenetration and low speed bullets like 12 gauge buckshot and .45 acp.... LOL
