Pigg River Precision's range in Rocky Mount, VA. Attended a CR2 solutions class there this weekend and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone that wants to get into long range shooting. Chris is a former Army Sniper School instructor, and had a few helper cadre that all came from either the same schoolhouse or the Army Marksmanship Unit.

The biggest thing I liked is that it was all broken down to easy to understand elements and there wasn't a bunch of ULTRA tedious stuff presented. All the info taught was built to be easy to understand, and more importantly, quick to implement. *Find target, range, guess wind, shot, hold correction.*

Lots of focus on teaching what info matters and what doesn't in terms of real world practical marksmanship, then taking that info out to the firing line and showing it isn't just hypothetical. It all flushes out from your data card to your impacts on target.

Next Precision Rifle 1 course from CR2 is down in Texas if you're interested:

One of the 3 letter agencies flew him out there. They need a long distance shooter in case Russell M. Nelson gets out of hand.

    This makes perfect sense.

Cool. Nice to be able to do it with someone’s company you enjoy.

I wish. The AMU instructor we had shoots around $200,000 in ammo on the taxpayer dime each year. Thats a perk of the job for sure.

First USPSA match in Carry Optics went really well today. Red dots on pistols are something Im still working at, but the fact I was this tight for the unclassed podium was inspiring.

A stickler for the rules member of my squad docked me 4 procedurals on a questionable call because my foot was an inch too far to the right for his liking, but on the combat effective metrics of speed and hits, I crushed it. Now I just gotta learn how to be a "gamer gunner".

Funny you mention that. A buddy of mine got "recruited" to join his protective detail based on his former career choices. They lost him when they mandated he lives according to the LDS values, of which he does not currently. Not sure how many LDS prior special forces dudes are rolling around, but I think they're looking for a unicorn

I mean it’s not really THAT hard, just a little decaf instead of the high octane stuff and you’re most of the way there :D

Wait a minute... "hot drinks" arent bad because of the caffeine so they say...so decaf still gets you breaking D&C 89:9. Nice try!

    Props for the reference!

There’s an interesting history where post-revolutionary war it was “unpatriotic” to drink tea (stick it to the Brits!) then ~1830 the import duty on coffee was lifted and it got real popular real fast. Anyway, when D&C 89 dropped in 1833 it was understood “hot drinks” referred to those 2, though the general principle is essentially to avoid addictive substances.

...Wait hang on, do I need to joint TW Addicts Anonymous??

4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of aevils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of bconspiring men in the last days, I have cwarned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation—

5 That inasmuch as any man adrinketh bwine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.

6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, apure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.

7 And, again, astrong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.

8 And again, tobacco is not for the abody, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.

9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.

10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome aherbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man

So, what you’re suggesting is that @Gunshot-6A is familiar with sacred scripture?
