What is your plan of attack on this? Tear it all off and start over or what?

    Basically:
chip off the bottom half of that wall to the porch step level-ish or wherever the badness ends plus some
pull off the siding behind the bush
    cut out the rot
scab in a new plywood layer
    tyvek wrap exposed wood area
    reapply existing or new siding
    add mesh grating
    mortar in a scratch pass
    mortar on rock facing
    grout fill
    drink heavily

At least thats the general idea. How far up the rot goes is really gonna dictate how I handle it.

Took a break yesterday from fretting over this home renovation stuff and got a little splishy splashy!

Murky from the start, and past 40 feet was pitch black and 3 foot vis except in the blinding white lights of the well we were diving.

Deep dive was 78* and the shallow pools were mid 60s. But a 30mph Toole wind cut right through a wet rash guard the minute you got out of the water, and felt like it was 0*

Also, needed more sealant halfway through so made a run. My beloved Crye pants found another use: Mc pants!

Yeah, Siding goes on after work today, then I gotta call a mason and quote out the mortar work. I am tentatively willing to do it myself, but if the cost isn't atrocious, I'd rather have someone who knows what they're doing do that bit.

@H3llRid3r got any contractor buddies willing to take on a quick side job?

yeah, you're gonna want to make it match the other bit of masonry work you already have on there so....a pro should be able to do it. haha.

Im not opposed to paying, I'd actually prefer to really, but I am annoyed with the fact that 4 weeks is the nearest availability I can get someone to do the job.
