I have 5 in my house currently, but I actually sold one today so only 4 are mine, and I have plans to sell another.

It's sort of misleading because transition frames are super low to the ground comparatively but that is the tallest position for if you were climbing while seated. I'm 6 foot with a 30" inseam and it always looks way worse that when you are sitting on your bike pedaling.

On long grinds up a hill, you are gonna gas yourself out standing on the pedals.

What does a decent bike cost these days?

    Too much :spending:

Depends on what discipline: Road bikes are pricier than mountain bikes, and full suspension is more expensive than hard tail. A "Good" full suspension mountain bike new seems to cost 3500ish and up. A good hardtail is more like 2K.

That's the reason I buy all my bikes second hand now. The resale value plummets like a rock in most cases after 2 seasons.

So...an REI hard tail isn't considered a "good" bike? Asking for a friend.

The REI "Co-Op Cycles" line is surprisingly good for the money. Esp the road bike models.

For ountain bikes, They sell Salsa and Cannondale models as well. The Timberjack and its full sus cousin the Horsethief are quite good in the upper trims. The cannondales I have always had a beef with but for no particular reason.

Ok, I'll let him know. :anonymous:

I've purchased Cannondale derailleurs in the past and had no problems.

It can be. Right now, a top of the line Mondraker Super Foxy is $11K I think.

This is one of my favorite "self punishment" climb and descend trails. But super scenic and the ride back down is a great rip!
