Hey man, sounds like you may be in the bay area as well. Are you a USAA member by chance? I looked at their car buying service. One of the most expensive was a 2012 with only 3,000 miles. TRD offroad, Camper shell, bull bar, roof rack. 32.9. Lots of others all 2012+ for around 30k.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Needed a double cab, was going to get a 2nd gen double cab but found a really nice first gen for less and with 75k original miles. Not only that I was tired of shifting gears with the 2011 and the 4 cylinder wasn't enough to keep me satisfied on the highway because it's so hilly here.

I figured it was extra space. :)

I loved the first gen doubles, never had one but man I loved them! Which is why when it came time to get back in a truck I picked up my 2013 double cab.

You may want to fly east, and take a monumental, epic journey west in your brand new love child. Good luck with hunt, but I would not pay 30k for this one man.

Yeah I am in love with it! It rides pretty good, is nimble, can turn on a dime. Nothing bad I've got to say about it yet. Much easier hauling my dogs around with that's for sure! With the access cab I had to stuff 2 in the back and then 2 in the front passenger seat, one of the floorboard the other in the seat. It was quite the ordeal.

Yea, I'm not part of USAA.
Hey PeeRunner, I'm actually looking for an OffRoad only.
If she has one, can you link me?
Sonoma is like the same distance as from SJ to Auburn (3.5 hours?)

If I keep my DC for as long as I plan to, think I am going to look into converting it to a double cab long bed, see how much work I would need to invest in that and decide if it's worth it.

She can get you whatever you want. No salesmen involved, you tell her what you want to spend and what you want, she'll order for you if you want something she can't get, which is what I did and Wanna Taco ended up doing.

She buys everything the dealership inventories, used and new. Feel free to PM Wanna Taco and get a feel for it and if you're seriously interested, let me know and I'll give you her cell phone number.

What is that extra port or whatever by the a-trac and aux input? Did anyone else notice that?

If he has an option to send him an email in his user profile, do that also. I'd give it to you but not sure that's cool with him. She works Monday-Friday, so you have time to think. Shoot me a PM if you want!

I have a question, and it's a phenomenon on almost every enthusiast forum. I really hope this guy gets an amazing deal on this truck, beautiful and I love that color, and of course as a fellow Tacoma brother.

But why do people always say "That's way overpriced" or "Talk em down to $25k OTD" seems to me that's like going to every home in your neighborhood with a for sale sign, and rooting every realtor or prospect looking at the home to take a huge discount off the house. Ultimately lowering the home values in your neighborhood.

My last truck was a Ranger XLT, Scab, 4x4, 4.0. It served me well and was a far cry from my '14 Off Road 2nd gen. But what sold me on the Tacoma was everyone I knew that had one clamoring over the crazy resale value and reliability.

Personally that pricing is nearly in line with everything I've seen in the area for a used 2-3 year old Taco, 4x4. This is why I ultimately went new. When I was looking, even Carmax had OR's 2-3 years old $32k & $33k and you can't negotiate below that. I would offer $30k + Lic & tax and call it a day. You could always sell the topper later if you don't like it.

Because everybody wants the best deal, even if it's unrealistic. Same thing with guys who say "dealer offered me $2k under MSRP haha, he must think I'm an idiot, I told him $2100 or GTFO"

Or everyone can just keep paying retail, and in 2018 retail will be $88,000
