Sucks to hear about the fender issue man. It could be a lot worse though, so keep at it, fix the problem, get it done and get out there and fu$king enjoy it!

Maybe I should just go with 31 inch tires. There's a ton of them out there, 265/70 r16 is a taco stock tire size. Do you guys think it would look weird with 31 inch tires?

Would bump stops prevent the axle from being able to flex that far up? Of course that would mean it rode on them probably. Just a thought.

Yeah but I feel like it's better to do it right and have the articulation. I just wonder what a 31" tire would look like. Other issue is that the tires may be passenger tires instead of LT tires

Haha that would suck if they still didn't fit! You should be able to measure and verify though.

31's definitely wouldn't look as good, that said, 31's are still really beefy for a cargo trailer! Here's pictures of mine again, so same 5x8, no fenders though, for comparison. They're 265/75R16s (or essentially 31.5")

It looks great on your trailer! Most of what I find is 265/70 so just a tad smaller

I think it looks fine, that said I went with that size to match my truck so there's uniformity there. Assuming you're running 35s on the JK then it might look a little different, but I think it'd be a stretch to say they'd look tiny. If the expense is minimal, I say go for it. If it looks stupid in your opinion, but it works, then it's a problem you can address down the road (keep the old tires) and really only be out minimal expense and effort. Revert to bigger tires and fix fenders in a year or so when you've enjoyed it some and have the time.

That's pretty much what Im looking at now. Get the smaller tires, if I don't like them, fix the fenders down the road

For those who have followed the whole build... it'll be the third set of wheels/tires I bought for the trailer lol
