I'm using these Sylvania 921 ZEVO LEDs for the reverse lights on my 2015. Just plug and play. I'm happy with them and they're only $22

I tested those in the thread below, they do a decedent job of light distribution.

    For comparison to HIRs:
    Sylvania Zevo lux: 769
    Philips 30w HIR lux: 4330

And the 35w Osram's are even brighter.

Those do not appear to be the correct HIR bulbs, they look like the standard halogens. Although it is somewhat confusing, as the 35w standard bulbs product 635 lumens, and those are somewhere in the middle between that and the 860 lumens from the HIRs. Note the HIRs in the link you quoted have a spherical bulb, whereas the conventional halogens have the traditional style bulb shown on that box.

So those took three weeks to receive, they came from England. I contacted seller and they wouldn't give a refund untill they received them back. Contacted Amazon and they wouldn't give me a refund since it was a third party. shipping would have cost more then bulbs are worth. In the end amazon gave me a credit of 12 dollars and I ordered from bulbs america on Amazon and had them the following morning and installed in 10 minutes. They are super bright, nice little upgrade.

That's disappointing to hear, in the event I get the wrong bulbs, I will try and get something from them and lodge a complaint with Amazon also. Could you link the bulbs America listing here?

Who did you order from the first time? The link in my original post is to Bulbs America on Amazon.

The design style is good for the reverse reflector. Note in the description it says 800 raw lumens, 300 actual. The HIRs are 860 actual, so it really won’t be much of a comparison. There are better 921 LEDs than the FlashWolves though, I went over a bunch a while back in this thread below. I chose FlashWolves at the time because they were very popular on the forum as one of the most recommended LEDs.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-921-led-reverse-light-bulb-study.490137/

LED technology continues to get better, but one of the problems for the 921 LED is lack of cooling surface/mass, as the 921 is relatively small. So with the 921 LED you need to balance output with cooling ability and the cooling ability is very limited. If output is too high the cooling will be inadequate and the LEDs will overheat and fail. And as LEDs get hotter, their output reduces. In theory it isn’t too much of an issue if you only use reverse for a very short period of time. But backing up long distances, or sitting in reverse waiting for some slow vehicle to get out of your way in a parking lot, etc, can lead to being in reverse for than the typical few seconds. The best performing LED in that thread above had this heat problem. While they performed great initially many people had regular product failures, leading to the hassle of warranty returns, which then just gets you a replacement product prone to the same failure. So it is more ideal to balance having a lower output LED that has lower heat output and lower cooling demands to develop a product that isn’t as failure prone. None of this is an issue for the higher output HIRs, and at a 4000 hr life span, the HIRs will likely outlast the LEDs as well, while also being much cheaper. So I really haven’t continued testing any more drop in 921 LEDs.

Dependable trading was the company. Don't know why the link went to that seller but I know I didn't change the seller. I just followed one of the links here could have been I didn't follow your original. Just want to make sure noone else makes the mistake I did.

Same here, Dependable Trading, already found links on eBay and Amazon to get the correct ones just in case from Bulbs America. Dependable Trading also just increased their price to over $8 a piece. They might be doing a bait and switch and that will be my argument if they don't refund me.

Actually... I bet Amazon defaults to the lowest price seller. So it could be they listed them for less and were the default seller, now that they raised the price it is Bulbs America again.

Crash may I ask for the Amazon link for Bulbs America? It goes to the link for the $8.06 part and looks to be from Dependable Trading. I know I may be jumping the gun, but I want to make sure I'm not being run over by the same company again. If anything I'm sure I can sell them off as they would probably perform better than OEM.

Look under the buy now button, it should say “Ships from Bulbs America”.

If not, a just below that it says:
“New (7) from $8.06 plus free shipping”

Went out to the kitchen and found a padded envelope my step son brought in from the mail. Dependable Trading needs to upgrade their packaging.

Loose packed, no bubble wrap, to secure the bulbs, a cheap box would have been better. Checked all the prongs and they seem to be fine, none of the inner plastic sealed bags opened. Glad I ordered 4 of them, just in case. Word of caution if you do order from them. Order was placed on Oct. 3rd. Will install them soon and see how they turn out.
