Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
oh i know its next to nothing. it doesnt bother me too much.

will say after doing the brake lights i don't get the massive voltage dip sitting at a stop light at night anymore.. but i really should just do my alternator upgrade since this ones clearly worn out. sequoia 150 amp for the tundra aint cheap though!

Not the best comparison, but so much better than the cheap walmart LEDs I put in when I bought the truck

Guys doing these on 1st gens...I have bayonet sockets on my 1999. Are you replacing sockets to make these fit? Or do some first gens have this socket type? Need these on my truck...worst case I can solder the lamp into bayonet bases but that’s a kind of a kludge

Check post #386 on page 20. There is a socket that should work on 1st gen. I have some I can't use, pm me if you're interested and we'll work something out.

I’ve looked on Amazon and eBay for these lights and they look different than the ones in the OP. Can someone link a site or listing for the correct ones to buy? Thanks!

I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BMUFN8/ but they were $8.99/free shipping per bulb from Bulb America as the seller. As of 1/17/21 Amazon is showing $16.49 and another one for $20. I'm pretty sure that's not a pair, so I'd probably hold off for a while and let the price drop. Maybe set an alert on CamelCamelCamel.

I bought it from Bulb America. They also have a website. I don't remember if I bought it direct from their website or through Amazon.

Unfortunately, they show the Osram as out of stock.
    https://www.bulbamerica.com/product...35w-12v-gy6-35-base-halogen-halostar-pro-bulb

Sign up for their newsletter, and you will receive discount offers.

I am sure that I paid around $7 for each bulb. Camelcamelcamel shows this as a recent low on Amazon.

Apparently these bulbs are like gold because I can't find the Osram or Philips in stock anywhere. I did find an Osram 35w Gy6.35 765 lumen, I might just go with those. The stockers I have in now are absolute garbage.

Here is a copy/paste from a PM I just sent someone on the subject:

It looks like they are out of stock on the Osrams many places domestically. I believe the Philips 30w HIR bulbs were discontinued a while ago, so you're best off looking for the Osrams.

    Here are a few places:
    In stock Feb 10: https://www.lightbulbs.com/product/osram-615905

Doesn't say out of stock but not in stock either, no experience with this seller:
    https://www.adlsupply.com/halogen-b...ostar-bipin/osram-64432-eco/?sku=OHB64432 ECO

Others have successfully ordered from this site, but it is out of Slovania:
    https://www.svetila.com/en/12v-g4-g...r-eco-64432-12v-35w-gy635.html?gmc_currency=4

Ordering from Amazon UK, I've bought plenty of stuff from Amazon out of the UK, it is great for finding hard to find lighting products:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Osram-Halo...ywords=osram+gy6.35+35w&qid=1611773614&sr=8-3

Similarly with Amazon UK, there is also ebay UK. <-Link is really ugly so I'll make this one nice.

Is there a major difference between the halostar ecos and halostar pros?

I can’t believe I read through all 24 pages of this thread. Anyway, stumbled upon this in the GXOR Facebook group. I bought these bulbs to install in my reverse lights for my GX460, however after carefully bending the bulb pins and removing the original 921 bulb, I just don’t feel comfortable with how it fits in the socket, which feels like it’s going to fall out no matter what I do. Last thing I want, obviously, is to have that bulb fall out inside the light housing, which looks fairly difficult to remove on this vehicle.

So it got me thinking. A lot of these aftermarket LED bulbs use a PCB (circuit board) as the part that slides into the socket to make the electrical connection. I tried just seeing if I could find a blank PCB that I could buy, and then just solder the bulb pins to the PCB, and insert it that way.

Anyone run across anything like that? Would sure make me feel better about mounting them.

I believe the Eco designation is the older label and Pro is the modern one. Not that there is any difference in product. Osram no longer lists the Halostar Eco on their site, just the Pro.

Did you try both the bulb prong bending technique and the pinching the socket tabs? This mod has been done on many other vehicles outside of the Tacoma and I've yet to hear about any bulbs falling out.

Since I need a 7440 bulb and the Osram 860 Lumens are out of stock everywhere, would the Osrams 64432S work almost as well? And the 7440 adapters you linked work with this bulb?

    64432S Specs:

    OSRAM 64432 S - 35 Watt 12 Volt, T12, GY6.35 2-Pin base, Clear, 2000 Hrs Average Life, 765 lumens Halogen Light Bulbs. Features:
    - Wattage: 35w
    - Light output: 765 Lumens
    - Rated Life: 2000 Hours
    - Base pins are tempered to protect against corrosion
    - Axial filament ensures optimum directional light
    - High illuminance level
    - Contains no mercury

EDIT: Disregard, I ordered from Amazon UK. With shipping the total was about $24.
