Sorry, I haven't been online in a while. But yes, those are the bulbs and they are great. So much better than stock. I didn't bend the prongs on the bulbs at all. I just used a small screwdriver to slightly tighten up the tabs in the sockets. Slipped in with a firm grip.

@crashnburn80 Received my bulbs today. Question: Are the prongs really brittle or somewhat pliable? Trying to avoid breaking a prong. Is nudging the female receiver tabs over preferred? TIA

They are very sturdy in my opinion. I would use pliers though.

Thanks. Sound fairly sturdy but bends with needle nose pliers. Perfect

I think I did a little of both. Bend the prongs so there’s a curve and push the female connectors closer together.

These also work in our new 4runner. I have them in the tacoma and the 4runner.

I have these, NIB, waiting for me to build a harness so I can stiff them in my ‘02 Tundra along with red and amber.

curious how nice they end up.

a direct bulb replacement is considerably easier. Though I could just use bulb adapters if I could stand the thought. And building a harness won’t really take that much time.

the screws which hold them in place leave a little to be desired as well, to be honest.

I think the VLED's V6 Extreme work great. In the post linked below they do really well in my Subaru Ascent. I haven't any issues with them since I installed them. VLED's make really good quality products and I would put them above Diode Dynamics for accessory lighting. I personally know people that have their V6 Triton signal LEDs (single color and switchback) and resistor packs for 5+ years and transferred them from car to car without a single issue. Though 3rd gen Tacoma's are very specific about the resistance for the signal bulbs.

    Good stuff OP.

I picked up a set of the recommended bulbs from the link to BulbAmerica. TW for the win again.

Worse than the headlights offer in my case, the stockers don’t do well at all on an easement I use to get to the back of the house. I like rolling the 200’ or so in reverse as it’s easier not to have to turn around inside my property. It can be done, with a bit more than a three point turn, but reverse for me is just easier. I like to use the flashers, and that helps some, but the off-on doesn’t make it ideal.

How well does this mod handle severe washboards when off-roading? And I mean The Kind the rattles the truck in brutal mode at a slow pace.

Can a roll of copper wire (or better conductivity) around the bulb prong be soldered and offer a bigger footing for the socket prongs to be left as is?

Now I’m not just talking 4 wheeling, but hard core washboards where the truck is forced to slow down and :censored:

Ive probably done close to a 1000miles of forest roads and tons of those washboard roads your talking about. Havent had an issue. I also find that bending the metal tabs in the bulb socket to hold the bulb tighter to help alot.

Many multi-day off road trips with that setup and zero issues. Bend the tabs to lock it in place and it will stay seated just like stock.

I officially joined the gang! Hell yeah. A mega thank you to those of you who make TW happen.

I was on the fence like a lot of you. It’s not a bad as a job I thought it was. The prongs can handle the job needed to bend them. I was afraid of breaking one. No chance. Done.

I can’t wait to back into the crib at night…in pouring rain!!!!

PS…I’m so fired up, I’m ready for the season!

These look like two different bulbs. One says 37W and 880lm; the other 35W and 860lm. I also received the 37W/880lm set from Amazon and there are mistakes and inconsistencies around the box. Is it possible these different ones are knockoffs?

Product images on the manufacturer's website show the 35W box to be original.
