I found some on eBay which were priced at $14 + per bulb. I kept searching and found these. I bought 3 for for the price of one on eBay as I may mess one up bending the prongs.

Shazam! I did not, haven't signed on in a while, so I'm very slowly catching up on things.
I'll order those up right away.

Why is everyone looking for the 35W version? Original thread seemed to imply that you get better light out of the 30W bulb using stock harness. So unless you are upgrading the harness, it seems that the 30W bulb is better? I can't seem to find either, except for obscure Euro websites...

    Welcome to TW!

Sorry if the results are a little misleading/not clear. The original lux readings were taken with one stock bulb in place and one Gy6.35 bulb so that I could compare. Only having one upgraded bulb in did not place as heavy of a load on the circuit. When I upgraded to the 35w HIR bulb, I had the other 30w HIR on the other side rather than the stock bulb. This put a heavier load on the circuit and caused the bulbs to not get full voltage which caused them to operate at a lower output level. The 35w HIR bulbs are brighter than the 30w HIR even in this scenario and the 35w HIRs are easier to purchase. Seeing the drop in performance I realized significant output gains can be had by running a harness directly to the battery which also frees up the towing circuit (the reverse lights share the tow circuit). Building a harness is on my project list, but I’ve got a few other projects first.

You can get the 35w bulbs here:

Ah hA! Thanks. I purchased them from lampline before I got your response, because that's all I could find and I figured they'd be way better than stock regardless... Thanks again - love your posts on the lighting upgrades! I tried some LEDs from Autozone and they weren't any brighter, just annoying white lights, so this prompted me to do some research, and what you are saying makes total sense. LED makes no sense in housings designed for halogen!

I did a comparison to a bunch of LED reverse bulbs in this thread below, and the 30w HIRs we’re far brighter than all of them. And the new 35w HIRs are even brighter than the 30w. :)

I like the upgrade of these bulbs (plug and play). I am curious to hear about your results with a new wiring harness.

Guys, I have read through the original post and many, many of the comments. But honestly lighting is above my pay grade, so, to keep it simple. Can I just buy these (link below, same as the link at the top of the page) lights, bend the prongs in the arc shape and just plug em in and roll? Yes or no? Trying to understand all the other stuff just hurts my head. Thanks in advance.

Yes. That is what I did. I just bent the prongs out without curving them, and they are working just fine.

Bend plug prongs not bulb prongs. No worry on breaking bulb then tighteningProngs_zps32cef947_a9ff4e1ac812a336aff67aedea9a3ac97367e231.jpg

Ordered mine a month ago. Never received receipt or confirmation emai. I’ve contacted company twice through web site and no response. Think I may have to go through cc to get money back.

I ordered them, bent prongs out, put them in, and brightness is MUCH better! It’s plug and play, just use link above to order. Can bend bulb prongs or plug prongs I guess.

Pics attached show difference between OEM and the new bulb. Then I swapped to see difference again. Also took shots of backup camera - improvement there too!
