For a beginner you'll have way more fun on a 125 2t and it's the best way to learn proper technique. I know dudes that got 250/450 4t's for there first bike and it just wears them out and they learn much slower.

If you want to get good at wheelies, log crossings, getting over rocks, jumps, all of it a 125 2t is the way for you to go starting or advanced. There is less power on paper but you'll feel plenty when you're riding it, not weak by any means. plus its not any smaller, same suspension etc. just lighter.

I've ridden alot different sized bikes (mostly 4T's) and I mostly ride single track/trails and Ive gone back to a YZ 250 (2 stroke) and even at 6'1" 190lb I'd still take a good 125 2t in a heartbeat.

Not to mention a few other big names are dumping $$$$$$ into developing direct injection 2 strokes... bye bye 4 strokes. I have both, I'm not dissing 4t's, but my 2 stroke is more fun to ride and I just put in a new top end it for $130 in my garage... I won't touch the 4t beyond routine maintenance.

Nice choice. Second mod, god bark busters, I like Acerbis but any will do; so when you domp the bike it won't break your levers off. A must.
Now go get full protective gear and rip that thing! BRAAAAwwaaawwwTTT

CRF250 bro. Best bike on the market. I'd suggest 4 stroke cuz their a little easier to maintain and what-not but thats up to you.

Im sorry but thats just wrong.

As for the new bike, make sure you have good boots and a helmet first. Next you might want to look into some bark busters if your going to do some off road riding. Oh and maybe an extra air filter. No toil makes great air filter products.

your right steve o. Mixing gas compared to just putting in premium is a lot less maintenance. :der: i say 4 strokes
