I just had surgery on my knee on friday. I have had plenty of time to do searching around the website. I have a 2011 DCSB with around 12k miles. I have done some minor mods but I am really thinking about retrofitting my lights with the H1's. I like the fxr's but I don't want to do that much cutting. After all of my searching I still have a couple questions.

    1. are the XB35 bulbs worth the extra money?
    2. Can i just buy the kit and exactly how do I need to configure the kit? Which wiring harness?
    3. After looking at all the installs I have not seen any with good pics of the back. Is there any cutting that is required or just set them in and install wiring?
    4. I like the apollo and gatling gun shrouds....is one easier to install then the other?
    5. Where is the best place to get OEM headlights so if I would screw up my originals i can get another set?

Thanks and look forward to diving in to this after I am off crutches in 5 weeks.

if so. the order should be as follows (99% sure)

    Adapter Plate: H4
    Ballast: Morimoto 3Five (35W)
Bulb: all about choice, dunno about the xbs
CCFL Angel Eyes: if u want them, also called "halo eyes"
    Projectors: LHD
Resealing Glue: if you want it
Shrouds: preference, dunno the answer to your question however
    Wire Harness: H4/9003

also, most guys on here would not recommend going over the 5000K bulb temp.

and im bout positive there is no cutting of the reflector bowl when mounting morimoto minis.

No cutting with the mini h1's. Mini h1's are way better than the mini d2s too..just fyi. TRS sells a complete kit that will include everything you need. Send them an email if you have any further questions, they are always helpful.

after my hours of reading today I am seeing the the H1's are better then the d2s. I just wish that I could use the phillips bulb with them. I am still debating on if I want to buy an extra set of headlights to do this on or just take the ones off of my truck and use them. Still trying to find a H1 walk through with complete pics.

just make sure you have a day where you dont need to go anywhere, or if u have another vehicle, and use the lights on the truck. in all honesty there isnt much to mess up. With the writeups on here about taking apart headlights and resealing, it should be easy.

With the minis there really isnt much to mess up either, just take out the bulb cover currently installed in the current healight, install projector, reseal, wire, and done.

TRS gives you all the nesessary brackets and whatnot with their kits.

4300K is a great choice. no blue at all. except for in the color band across the top of the cutoff, but all the light is clean natural light

after doing some looking around I see that a lot of people are going with the 5000k. Does anyone have a comparison of the 4300k vs 5000k on the H1 and also a comparison of the mini H1 vs the stock tacoma output? Thanks

    Why is that?

In my experience- My friend with an audi S4 just upgraded to 6000k with 50w. It is an incredibly clean white! NO Blue whatsoever. He may experience heat issues with the 50w but we'll see....
