I spoke with a couple of you guys about making some sliders, but for the life of me I cant remember the grade of tubing used for those bad boys. It was probably the combination of a long day and even longer night! Anyways, what grade do they need to be made out of, I will hopefully be able to price these out this week and work on a design.

This is straight from Silverback who knows a heck of a lot more about it than I do.. If I put it on my truck, it's gotta be SIlverback Approved... LOL :D

Silverback says "Well I would make the brackets out of 1/4" plate. The arms the connect to the brackets out of 2" square 3/16th's wall. The square support would also be 2" square 3/16ths wall. Then the outer sliders would be 1.75" .120 wall DOM tubing.

I'm looking at building something with the same specs.. I might use 2" 1/4 wall square for my arms and the square support."

Btw, the guys who were interested in headache racks, I have a couple sitting around right now. If you guys want them as is, I would be more than happy to hook you up. I'll need bed measurements though so I can see if they fit tacos.

pick your size pipe, I'd say 2" diameter and get Sch.80 or 120. Should be more than enough. SEEMLESS pipe, A106 Grade B

Hey bacon, I liked your slim truck box. I failed to write down the brand. What is it and where did you get it?

    Gratzy talhas!

Thx for the pipe specs, I'm going to make some calls tomorrow. And I'll post some pics of the racks I have tomorrow unless I can find some on my computer tonight. They're pretty basic, but I can easily cut something out for them to make them more aesthetically pleasing

When I left the meet I was livid, the wheels hitting the calipers was the breaking point. I got on the phone with DT and headed up there. Turns out the driver side fwd wheel was rubbing as you seen, however the passenger side fwd didn't.....so they gave me two options.
    1. return the wheels for something else
    2. grind the calipers.
I really LOVE those wheels and I really didn't want to send them back & since they had air tools with a grinder they offered to do it for me and they only had to shave down like 1/32-1/16" .... took all of 10 min. no more rubbing.

Thanks. I think so too!! although I did have to grind down the brake calipers a bit, they were hitting.

i confirmed that my PO list said I got a "toyota AAL45"....toyota stock AAL however my thoughts are that I got the TSB replacement last year when I complained one side was lower than the other and they sent the AAL for non-tsp spring pak...either way its going back for credit and I'm ordering a toytec AAL from Toytec tomorrow.
