Fresh off TIS, the recall is now live.
verify VIN, replace crank sensor.... though i just ran my VIN and it does not show my truck being eligible... that may change soon as all the servers may not yet be in sync.

attached the PDF's for those who want to read them.

My dealer service manager just called me said he placed the order for parts for my truck and in anticipation he went ahead and booked me an appointment to have it replaced this Thursday the 27th. Now that is service.

I might be wrong, but the repair looks like a different part number than what I had ordered previously for my DIY.

I ordered part number 90919-05089 and the recall calls for 90919-05098.

2016 and 2017 Tacoma's are impacted. Not necessarily every single one of them however.

I bet you its the same part, they just assigned a new number for clarity in their system and also so that they can deny reimbursing those who did the fix themselves.

I am glad to see the CPS on recall, last Summer the White Knights scoffed at the idea of there being one.

Thanx man.... my truck was made in 09/15 and does NOT show up when I put the VIN in Toyota's web site....

    https://www.toyota.com/recall

Is there a better place to look to see if I'm on the list..?

My service advisor told me it's not an official recall but a replace if fails part? Sounds dumb because he told me all trucks are affected. Maybe he was giving me an uneducated answer?

Just a service "advisor". I've worked with some who really shouldn't be "advising", because they're no better than an uneducated salesman. I'd wait for a bit like Murray said. Not all dealers may be in sync yet?

    How long?
I don't see a manufacture date on yours.
Mine and most others that I have seen posted are dated.

I've had it since early October 2016, truck was built mid July 2016. It's got the hashmark, exactly as the one found in my truck. It was just preventative $100 insurance to carry along. I'm not sure where I can find the date code for it. Is there something to look for?

The sensor itself is this with the mark and numbers.

The pdf says 32,000 vehicles are effected by this recall. I expected that to be a much larger number from the amount of people that have posted about this.

According to @hiPSI this forum is in no way, shape, or form a good/representative sample for Tacoma issues.
