No. Connector is fine. It’s trying to seat the 4 tabs. If I can get the H16 out, and take a pic. The two are identical. It’s bizarre. Just wondered if it was a bad pack of bulbs or not. Doubt it. But never know.

Your truck has a fog lamp that takes an h16 bulb, not an H11. Earlier model tacomas used a H11based fog lamp. They switched to a lower performance H16 fog around the '17 model year??? @crashnburn80 is the go-to on this.

While an H11 and an H16 bulbs base are very similar, the bulbs are not, otherwise. An H11 will not work well in an H16 lamp, and will likely melt the reflector and lens. It's a much hotter bulb.

There are no good H16 bulbs. And there aren't many good candidates for dedicated H11 yellow bulbs. Much more effective to tint the lens of your fog lamp with either duplicolor metalcast anodize yellow, or a sheet of kapton tape, both of which will get you the correct selective yellow color, and with less filtration loss than the vinyl lens films offered by others.

If you want the higher performing H11 based fog lamp, then order a set of OEM fog lamps for the 2016 or earlier model year tacoma. But don't try to stick an H11 in your current fogs.

Since you mention yellow, I'm going on a limb and guess that you actually use your fog lights as fog lights (foul weather lights) not some kind of auxiliary lighting misapplication.

That said, I'd suggest you ask @memario1214 about a set of Diode Dynamics LED in yellow that will PnP in your OE fittings after you remove the OE fogs.

    EDIT FOR CLARITY.

When I refer to H11/H16 below the physical fog lamp assembly is designed for the H11 or H16 assembly, not just the bulb inside

In the US the 2016-2019 TRD trucks (excluding the Pro) use the "wide angle" H11 fog lamp assembly. The non-TRD trucks use the regular H16 lower performing fog lamps. From 2020 on-ward the non-LED equipped trucks only use the lower performing H16 assemblies. The Canadian trucks are H16 only.

The bezels between the H11 and H16 trucks differ as well.

This is a 2016-2019 TRD Sport with the H11 lamps.

    This is your non-TRD truck

What is interesting is that the 2020+ trucks only use the H16 style bezel, even if it's the LED fog lamp.

The earlier 2012-2015 trucks use the same H11 assemblies and typically trade for cheap money if you want to retain halogen.

But the actual owners manual states H11/H16. And if you try to buy H16 LED fogs, they all come up as H11/H16.

OK, you seem to be ignoring everyone saying h11s wont fit in h16 spots and that it is not a good idea to do. Accept the answers that you were given.

There are two different physical assemblies. One assembly is designed for an H11 bulb. The other assembly is designed for an H16 bulb. Two different assemblies, two different part numbers, bulbs are incompatible between the two. The owners manual will note both bulb types because depending on model and year there are two different fog bulb options because there are two different assemblies installed in this truck.

What the aftermarket is trying to pass off as fitting is irrelevant here. They can rebase and kluge together whatever, but it’s not going to be a proper fit, and LED bulbs in halogen assemblies is a dumb idea regardless.

If you want to run an H11 bulb, you need the proper H11 assembly, full stop.

I went through this exact same ordeal 3 days ago with my non TRD 3rd gen.... H16 only one that'll fit.

There are plug n play LED fogs that will plug into the fog H16 plugs if you want more lumens out of your fogs...but any decent H16 will be better than an old worn out oem bulb.

The PIAA ones I got throw a wider beam than the white oem halogen fog

Interesting, I slapped some H11 LEDs in the fogs on my 21 and they fit just fine.

They’re not opinions, they’re facts. The simple fact is that your fog light housings are not compatible with a H11 bulb. No amount of internet opinions will change that.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
It seems to me that I read somewhere that the Canadian market Tacomas got the H16 housings and no, the H11s won't fit. There are H16 LED bulbs that put out more light than stock H16 bulbs and come in 3000k color.

Correct, Canada never got H11s (see my post above).

LED in a halogen assembly is still a poor idea. A dedicated LED assembly (DD or even the OEM Toyota / Lexus ones if you’re on a budget) will be superior in every way if your goal is LED.

Look. Judging by the other thread you created, you have a little knowledge. Which is fine. But trust the information you were given. We all went through this.
Get 2016-2017 OR fog housing rated for 55w H11 (cheap)
    Or
    Tundra/Lexus LED fogs ( $100 or so)
    Or
    aftermarket (depends on your wallet)
