The thing is he tested - for the H1N1. But then we are told the test is not 100% accurate, and that you can only test positive for flu strain A, then that s sent to the cdc for + H1N1. The only people that have a true H1N1 test are the cdc in Atlanta. Dr says 95% of flu cases right now are H1N1 because seasonal flu has not started in our area. I think they are only giving the tamiflu is if there are other factors like asthma or respiratory problems. I do not know for sure though...it is all so confusing

Yeah most cases of flu right now are H1N1 especially in kids.. I know this because I work in the Denver Areas biggest peidratic hospital emergency room. We do nasal washes on all kids with flu like symptoms unless the doc can from experience say its not needed. We have had a few "normal" flu start to come in through the hospital now and a few cases of RSV which If I had kids I would be more worried about RSV killing my child than H1N1.

My son had RSV at 3 weeks old...scary shit man. He was fresh out the womb man and gets sick....he is 9 months old now and has bad weezing when he gets a cold or something...soo I am gonna have to go on the side of getting him the flu shot b/c if that weezing gets too bad it wont be good. Next door neighbor had flu his temp was 104* and the Doctor told him if it gets to 107* thats when you need to come in...who knows what to believe but all I know is Im not a doctor so i have to rely on what my doctor is telling me and giving me as advice...Personally Im not getting the H1N1 but will be getting the seasonal shot...

My son has had many breathing issues over the years. That's why we decided to all get the shot yesterday.

They call young 20 something healthy people, who don't get the shot, vectors. They catch the flu because they don't get the flu shot. They usually pull through just fine. However, they become flu incubators for a week and pass the flu on to some other poor bastard who ends up dying.

Anyway, I hope your kids get better real soon!!

    Cheers.

Yep... I have no clue why everybody is not getting it. It's like everybody became an expert on it overnight, saying bad things about it.

There was an article - don't remember where - that listed side effects... Plus the vaccine is supposed to contain mercury... That's what I have heard, but have not seen anything with any proof... I would like to see more information on the vaccine

That and they think they are indestructable... Many on here have gotten the swine flu, and said they felt bad for a couple of days and got better...

I'll let my immune system handle it.. that's what it's there for, right?

Well, the shot is what preps your immune system for the virus by introducing a dead form of the virus. Therefore, your immune system has already seen the virus (but you haven't seen the symtoms) and it will know how to fight it. In short, after you get the vaccine and you catch the bug from somebody else, the symptoms won't be half as bad as if you didn't get the vaccine.

    Well it's been proven...

How do we know that if somebody gets the shot and then get the flu, that they got it from the shot? They could get the shot and go back to an environment where someone already has the flu and they spread it... If the person was at home with nobody else coming or going, then that would be a different story. Not trying to be an ass or anything, just presenting a different viewpoint on the vaccine and it's pros/cons.

Scientists have already proven that it is worse to get a flu shot than it is to not get one, being that these new flu's that are going around are stronger and smarter and more evolved than ever before. Getting the shot not only puts a virus into your body on purpose, but your body can actually mutate the strain and make it much stronger and then spread that.

I will not be getting myself sick and running the risk of causing a new form of virus.
