Hummer is going away......so why would you buy a vehicle (brand) that will cease to exist?

    http://www.leftlanenews.com/official-gm-winding-down-hummer.html

In order to move the 2,200 remaining Hummer models in inventory, GM will offer 0 percent financing for 72 months. Additionally, GM will offer $4,000 off 2010 models, $5,000 off 2009 H3T models and $6,000 off 2009 H2 and H3 models. Hummer will run ads in 20 markets promoting the sales deal.

I would readily buy a vehicle that is being orphaned, because you can get awesome deals on them. GM will still be around, so parts for the H3T will be readily available. Since the truck is essentially a Colorado, all mechanical bits cross reference. I was in the same boat with my Isuzu I-280 truck. I simply took it to the Chevy dealer for service.

That's what I thought when I got the Mazda Protege 5... then I got slapped with $800/each for plain old tires because I uses unquie size that no other cars other than BMW 5 series use.

Sure - you'll get immediate 'gratification' from getting a deal on it.

I still wouldn't do it....... resale value would suck. Good Luck trying to trade it in and/or sell it later down the road. Eventually, you won't be able to get parts.

I did that very thing twice, most recently with the Isuzu truck. It is why I have a Tacoma now. The Isuzu brought the same money as a Colorado would have. I did the same thing with a Daewoo lanos. I gave $4k cash, and when I was ready to dump it, still got $1500 for it - about in line with what the equivalent year of Hyundai Accent or Kia Rio would have brought in trade.
