    Hey everyone,

I’ve been less than satisfied with the factory H11 output on my 2021 TRDOR with halogen projectors and LED DRL. Decided to swap for some Hella H9s and was reading about some folks opting to remove the green adapter inside the connector rather than trimming the inside tab on the bulb socket. I went that route and took some pics to hopefully help anyone who chooses to do the same. Apologies if I’m posting this in the wrong place or if someone has covered this already.

    In order:

first three pics are drivers side H9 installed, passenger factory H11 still in place for comparison in daytime. Not a huge difference but we’ll see once it’s dark.

last three pics are the factory green adapter sleeve inside the connector which plugs into the bulb. easily removed by inserting something thin and rigid between the seal and the plastic piece. take it easy or you will risk popping the plastic piece somewhere inside your engine bay that may not be fun to retrieve. super easy swap, keeping the old H11s along with the green plastic inserts all taped back inside the packaging from the new bulbs. also got a second pair of H9s to keep in the glove box since I’m aware these will have considerably shorter working life than the lower wattage H11s.

I did that but didn't like the way the plug connection felt sloppy on the bulb. I put the green insert back in and just trim the H9s.
