Working on the truck today before the game... noticed this...

Ugh, looks like I'll need some new cam tab gussets... My lowers are the originals so maybe it'll be a good excuse to swap them out too... time to save some $$$.

I highly recommend some stock length lowers!! I broke 2 separate LCAs and was lucky I didn't do more damage each time. @Dirt King Fab makes some very nice beefy LCAs btw!

Was leaning towards keeping em OEM, simply for cost reasons... I have yet to be convinced that LCA upgrades are all that beneficial when riding extended/mid travel suspension. Do you disagree?

Highly! The upgrade to a uniball over a ball joint is a major plus in itself. Not to mention the ease of replacing it in the future. I broke my previous stock LCAs in two different locations, @Kyouto42 did as well similar to one of mine. The way they're welded together, close to the spindle, is scary and there's not a lot of support. The opposite lca to the ones that broke always showed stress cracks at that inner weld as well as the metal surrounding the bushings, which is where mine broke

A small handful of select mods.
I have done some research on lowers and I plan on getting Dirt Kings sometime this year. I like the way they are design and can be installed without modifying steering stops. Plus I like the Derlin bushings come stock.

    Good Point.

Do you guys think Dirt Kings over Total Chaos? If so, how do they differ?

Like Gramps said, they come with Derlin bushings and no trimming required. My truck handling felt nice and tight after install  (EDIT: this was also because I bought their heimed uppers) I personally love the black powdercoat and riveted logo vs total chaos silver and a sticker. Not sure if TC requires trimming but maybe @2ndGenJonny can chime in here since he loves his

Steering stop needs to be trimmed for the TCs. I would also recommend that you get the Non Secondary shock version if you have no intention of adding a secondary.

Ive had mine for 60k+ and never an issue. Polyurethane is still looking good as well as the UBs. I did just buy a replacement set of UBs, but I changed lube and did a thorough cleaning to shut them up. I have discussed UB lube in the MTBS thread many o times. Thats key to a set of uppers and lowers IMHO.

The delrin argument goes back and forth as well as the Chromolly argument.

I have heimed uppers, so having some give in the lower bushings is nice.

Both are great products, but I stand by TC. (Not just cause Avids a dealer)

Do you guys see any disadvantages/advantages to either system or any potential issues when paired with my camburg UCAs? As much wheeling as I've done, my suspension has changed very little over the years so I'm not as well versed/researched as others.

Your Camburgs use a bigger UB but wont impact the LCA. Its still mounts to the spindle the same.
Let me know if you want to actually see the TCs sometime. Im due up for a 30k soon and ill be going through everything. So if you want to head to the shop when we do that in the coming weeks, you can take a look for yourself.

So in doing some talking with some people I'm leaning more toward Total Chaos over Dirt King... However, I've heard about the restricted turn radius caused by the TC race lowers (versus the non-race versions which have less ground clearance) and the way the spindles hit the LCAs making little dents and what not... Has this bothered you? I'm not doing any racing type stuff but I'm worried about restricting my turn radius for not only around town driving but tight trails as well.

I'm going to edit the quick response.

You can see how much "damage" when you look at my truck. I really wouldn't say ive lost any noticeable turn radius either.
For me it was strength and DK didnt exist, or atleast had their lowers known to the just yet. It was LSK and TC, the LSKs arent made anymore either.

Ive had these lowers on some decent runs. They have held up extremely well and have taken some hits. I never have once regretted buying them.

Awesome truck! I love that bedrack. Right when I am, ready to pull the trigger on a different one I see yours and am now second guessing my decision and want to learn more about Hunter Offroad.
