After learning there is no easy way to lower the rear an inch or two I took the advice of someone here who said "throw some weight in the back". Maybe he was kidding, I'm not sure. But I did what he said. I wanted to add about 200 Pounds but have it secure and low profile. The end result is about an inch drop in the rear. In a little while I'll throw more weight in the back to get closer to a 2 inch drop to see if I like it. I figure a receiver hitch and a Cap would weigh about the same as this setup so it doesn't seem too extreme. First drive was a smoother ride and the back end felt more planted, I think I like it. If I don't like it I can remove in about 5 minutes.

Hey, that’ll do. Cheap and effective. It’ll also wear out your stock leafs slightly faster so then it’ll drop even more.

You’ve got me curious, why are you trying to lower the rear?

    Inquiring minds want to know?
Especially if the opening to the bed is now full, thus having to lift items the same height off the ground to clear the weights.

Why are you lowering the rear? Please tell me you're not trying to baja-bro your truck. It's not 2002 anymore.

Dude he drives an AC SR. It's probably just his daily driver and wants to get rid of the rake

Wanted to get rid of the Rake. I'll almost never have any weight in the back, will never tow, add a hitch, a Topper or anything else that will bring the rear down. When I added a Hitch and a Leer cap on my 07 it handled and rode much better after I added those two things and it was almost level. . I'm never going off road and on road handling is my priority. When you don't have anything in the back the Tacoma is a little floaty at higher speeds. I'm considering an aftermarket Bumper as an alternative if they are heavy enough and don't require any permanent modifications. I bought my Tacoma because for some reason I just love body on frame Pickup trucks and they are great on Chicago's 3rd world streets.

Driving through Illinois I was appalled at the road quality. Nebraska however, top notch.

The suspension cycles so much better w a little weight in the bed. It's not as stiff. Worth it imo

I forget exactly how much was in my truck, but somewhere between 1000-1500# of concrete, stone, and block will get you around this high if you wanna Cali lean your whip.
    Ride was, uh wanting lol.

Yeah when I took the rack and tent off my truck it was very obvious. An extra couple hundred pounds really smooths out road bumps.
