Got a lot of stuff lol
You would need a complete 3rd member from an auto 5 lug or any 2nd gen 6 lug that's not an elocker. You them swap your gears and traction aid of your choice.

If you want to do ANYTHING in terms of modding the final drive, the 3.31 is nothing more than an 80 lb boat anchor.

The 3.58 is baseline upgradable, to i think 4.30.

I didn't want 3.58, as my intended tire size was calling for 4.10.

As i understand it, and as i proceeded - the 2nd gen Base or SR5 4x4 model, is the easiest to pick in terms of upgrade.

Anything TRD is likely e-Locker, and thus not compatible.

For the Prerunners, i poked around that a bit, and again, as long as it isn't TRD, it should be good. I was never able to confirm whether 1st or 2nd gen, but some were offered with a 3.73 or 3.90 gearing. 1st Gen T100's, may also be compatible.

When i went through the process, i simply got the wrecking yard to remove the whole pumpkin, minus axles, minus driveshaft. It comes out as a self-contained unit, all necessary parts included to just plug and play, if you want open axle.

I didn't, I wanted LSD due to weather conditions, my tendency to be aggressive on throttle. that made the one-wheel tire-fire experience a bit of an annoyance.

I got the pumpkin shipped in on a small skid, and presented it and the Detroit Tru-trac box to the tech at 4wheelparts, and left it with them for a week. He ordered some replacement bearings for it - standard procedure when opening it up, regardless of mileage. Aside from that, it was a matter of disassembly and rebuild with the Tru-trac.

Hope that helps to clarify further.
