they do look like they are in perfect condition. correct me if i'm wrong though (quite possible i am), but aren't 2001s supposed to be running hub-centric? if so, i think we've found the problem. if not...my bad

yea I think thats your problem, lug centric wheel spacers are bad news and disasters waiting to happen. If i were you i'd sell those off or trash them and purchase some hubcentric spacers. It centers everything better onto your hub and reduces the chance of stress on the lugs

sorry if my response to you came off rudely. I'm new to this forum but not new to them in general, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that you can't take things seriously on the internet.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm done with spacers. I had never thought about running them until my buddy told me he had an extra set. Like I said before, I'm happy with the way my truck looks as is. But maybe somebody else will read your response and think about that before they buy them for their truck

exactly. with lug-centric, the wheel is both centered by and supported by the lugs, which would explain why the bolts sheared.

^ yea, I have lug centric pro comp wheels on my hub centric spidertrax spacers and im 10x more worried about my wheels than spacers. Every time I remount my wheels I take a really long to to make sure the wheels are centered properly and that the lug nuts dont destroy the wheels.

yeah, from what i've heard, the hubcentric spidertrax are just about bulletproof (if installed right). i'd love to run a set, but i don't have the cash...don't worry thoug, i will be saving up instead of hitting ebay.

It's your choice- but torque specs are tested and written for a reason....

I love how this whole thread turned in to a little cat fight and what it all came down to was wrong brand and wrong type=user error.

You get what you pay for in this world so try to buy proven stuff. I have yet to hear about spidertrax failing and i hate to hear people say that they are scared to use them when stuff like this comes up. They are used by a LOT of people and are a proven piece of equipment. they are just as safe as ever if installed PROPERLY on the PROPER vehicle.

^ theres a thread on here where one member's spidertrax broke when he was installing them. Something about one of the lugs shearing off or something.

So the 05+ tacos are lug centric, and adding spidertraxx would make it hub centric, right? Does that mean we shouldn't use the spidertraxx with stock wheels and only get hubcentric aftermarket wheels?

I was looking at some moto metal 951 but they are not hub centric. Does that mean I shouldn't use the traxx?
