There is a switch on the parking brake actuator that turns on the light when the brake is set. Make sure that the brake is fully released. They could have the cable adjusted too tight which would prevent the actuator from going to the fully released position.

I think since the cables were just replaced that they are adjusted too tight.

There is adjustment under the center console if your e brake is an handle on the right side of the steering wheel. Don't know about the pedal for the automatic.

Get down there and dig around. Do you have a manual transmission ( Pull Park Brake ) or automatic ( Foot Pedal Park Brake )?

Automatic is on top of the pedal assembly at the rotation point.

I'm not sure on a manual exactly where the switch is. Look you should be able to locate it.

Did you check to see if the cables are too tight? I'd bet they are.
