Had the fuel pump recall performed today, also transmission reflash

Last week when I visited the Toyota website I saw that the fuel pump recall part was finally available, so I called my dealer (Venice Fl Toyota), and scheduled the fix.

They did it today and because I complained that the truck stumbled after shifts and bucked at low rpm speeds, they did the EG1810 Reprogram ECM (transmission reflash).

They provided a loaner and said it would take about four hours to get the job done. When they called and told me the truck was done (four hours later), I went to pick it up, afraid that the bucking and stumbling problem would not be resolved.

But it was. On my drive home, it drove like a completely different vehicle. Different shift points, no bucking after shifts, no stumbles at low rpm cruise speeds. No dropping a gear unexpectedly. It shifts like it should, like on my Lexus.

If your truck is part of the recall, get it done and have them reflash the tranny (6cyl auto), at the same time.

What year is your truck? What ECU calibration did you have and what did they flash?

Just in case it is helpful, see the ECU Update thread for as much info as we know about these TSBs.

It is very likely that they flashed both the Engine and Transmission ECUs. I do not think there is a separate flash for just the transmission.

You most likely had TSB-0058-18 done (see attached). The EG1810 code matches. From the looks of it, you're most likely ECU ID 04A61 now and that they did both the engine and transmission. You should see a small power bump. Not much to be felt, but I was able to pull hills one gear higher.
