The bad luck bug has made its way around to me

Noticed some stains on the skid plate and tow hook this morning, did the finger test and it was defiantly oil, looked to be leaking from the oil cooler above the tow hook

Its only been an hour since I dropped it off hope its not too bad :(

Bummer. Hopefully it's nothing major and you can be on you way with no more problems.

It looks like you drove into a puddle of oil. It doesn't look like a leak.

Thanks I sure hope so too

The saying is true all the service advisors pick up the phone or are "busy" when a 3rd gen Tacoma pulls up
Was the only one there and it still took 5 mins to get some contact

Yes I know it sounds like I'm whining

Didn't really know the protocol so I got out and was standing around aimlessly

good luck, curious to know outcome... x2 on puddle... you'd need to be dripping quite a bit of oil to get all over the skid plate AND tow hook...

Dealer returned truck saying no leak detected, Did my 5k service early.

My main reason for concern was that there was a lot of the "oil" on the top side of the tow hook, and being in socal I haven't mashed any puddles in this thing, let alone recently.

Perhaps I'm being picky or paranoid, or perhaps the car in front of me drove through a quart of oil.

Keep an eye on the oil level.

You gotta be pushy with the dealer idiots

Showed the service guy the marks and streaks, even got oil on my finger and sniffed it.

    His notes to the tech:

Drivers front oil leak by tow hook

My guess is the connections to the oil cooler sitting right above the tow hook, not a huge leak but maybe under high rpm.
Would a puddle settle all the oil on the top of the tow hook?

The early build 2016 Tacoma had a oil leak issue on the right side timing cover. Mr. Robot didn't put enough sealant on the cover in one area and it leaked. Unfortunately the motor has to be removed to do the repair. The job requires that the oil pan has to be removed so the motor had to come out to do this.
