Don’t think I can make this one. Just got back from a weekend at Rausch. Wheeling the 22. Have a weekend trip to NH this coming weekend and a 4 day weekend wheeling in Vermont Labor Day weekend. Might need one weekend to get caught up.
But looking at your route it looks like you are heading down 30 to connect down towards Somerset. A little further down 30 is Hamilton Falls in Jamaica. There’s a class 4, that leads to the parking area, over the mountain from Londonderry but there were some grown in spots. Another class 4 leaves the parking area back down to 30, but may be a little much for a stock truck. It’s a pretty awesome spot.

On another note I took 10+ rigs though a 60 mile run a few weeks ago in Northern Ma. Been planning a route since the waterfall tour but haven’t gotten to where I want to make a trip.

@BadDNA D’oh! Just saw this, thanks for putting it together. Late to the game as usual, I’d be interested in the next one or might borrow your route in reverse. I’m still working on a refined ADK Route, might try Gaia.

So I guess I need to get my vehicle wrapped, get a bunch of leds hooked up to a overpriced controller, strap a bunch of stuff to my roof, get a skottle get a RTT, get an instagram handle sticker for my truck, and get a few outfits from 5.11 before the end of the month. So much to do....

Also, what is your shemgah policy? Will we all need matching ones for pictures? I assume we'll need multiple so we can take a bunch of pictures and slowly post them to instagram with motivational quotes so that people think we wheel every weekend, but are really just using the pictures from a single trip.

You forgot the Rotopax you'll never use, and Maxtrax. And it all has to be the big name brands. None of this generic shit that does the same job for 1/4 the cost.

Hey, I looked into NATO cans when I was setting up for the NMW trip, that shit ain't cheap! Rotopax is in about the same neighborhood as a harbor freight version.

I actually have a set of TRED's i got in trade for my first gen tacos belly skid. They seem sturdy enough to me. And no rotopax, I have actual Wavian metal jerry cans...that I keep in the cargo area of my Landcruiser (gasp). So multiple negative overlund points there.

IIRC my Wavian cans were like $50 each. Let me see if I can locate where I even got them from.

Edit, nevermind I guess $80 ea. But They are fucking sturdy, you don't have to worry about them swelling, leaking vapors, breaking etc...

I'm in debates. Yes a metal can would be best, and I should do that because I use it around the house for the lawn mower too.
But we're moving soon to a rental (apartment or house, TBD, hopefully house) so I won't need it, so why spend on it. :notsure: so, might just not get anything.

Thanks for the links. I'll keep that in mind if I do get one, but probably forget and ask in a different thread if anyone remember where gas cans were talked about.

To be fair, Ive seen plenty of cracked and broken treds (and other generics) but never once had any problems with any of my Maxtrax. One of the few things I would definitely suggest going name-brand on (if they're going to be used more than a few times)

Midwest 5 gallon jerry can from Harbor Freight. $40

I have literally not had to use my TREDs once in the probably 6 years i've had them.

Yep, last year I needed to use sticks to get out of some mud, would have been nice to have a set. But instead, I got tires so I feel even better pushing it further.
