I have done countless hours of research, and I feel like I have a good base of understanding what I need to do, however I could not find an answer for my situation.

I am preparing to do a retrofit, to replace my current retrofit. The retrofit I have now has halo's wired to the parking lights. (I didn't perform any of this work, I bought the truck this way.)

With the retrofit I am planning on doing, I want to wire my new halos to a switch mounted into the cab. I have read countless threads and I am trying to figure out if I need to attach the halo's to a relay or not. I am using an OTRATTW switch. I couldn't find the answer if it would burn up the switch or not without a relay.

Also what are some way I can connect the halos up? Fuse tap? Tap into a 12v power source? So much info, I got lost for awhile.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

pm Tacodane. He got his on a switch. I'm waiting on otrattw to stock up some leds before I wire mine to a relay. I'm gonna wire mine to where when I turn the headlights on, it turns the halos off

I did the DTRL kill mod because I was having an issue with them. I don't miss them, however I would like to wire the halos to a switch so I can use them as DTRL or shut them off and be in stealth mode.

So in my quest to have the switch work properly I actually undid my fog light wires and used the green on pin 6 and black/white pin 7. Now with me doing that the bottom portion of my lights will come on when I have the dtrls on. The top portion will light up whenever I turn any accessories on. I basically rewired my fogs to do this. But tapping wires for the accessories and ignition isn't hard

I had the switches working but the only way I got the bottom portion to come on was using fog wires. Now you can always tap those wires for the pins I mentioned as well

i know it might be a small thing but....

what halos are actually putting in? there a few kinds out there and i wouldn't want to just assume which ones. wiring is pretty basic but some have different requirements.
