    coming out of CA. i will be taking my technician test soon. but have no purchased a radio. any pointers on good first time radios. hand held or not. i will mainly be using it in my truck.

    Could sure find you one in your area. Are you looking for a weekend study Class with an exam at the end, or just to take the exam?

    A lot of people have success studying on their own, so either is a fine option.
