I installed a set of HH back in the spring (V2 I think) and they are awesome but I am frequently riding my bumps with weight in the back of my truck. I don't know if I want to spend the money on a quality lift yet but what would be the best options? I've heard good things about the Dobinsons leafs but if you were to save up maybe $3k max, what would be the way to go for full lift (2-3") to support a bit of weight. Cheers!

I'd get 2.5" front Fox or King extended coilovers, and some leaf springs, Dobinsons are affordable and good. And they an appropriate rear shock. You might need to spend $4k

    Everything that Eric said.

I personally went Dobinsons for shocks and springs.

With that budget and since you carry weight, I’d think it a better option to spend the cash on a good set of deaver U402s, stage 1-3 (weight dependent). That will set you back 1k leaving you with 2k to spend on shocks, which will be a little tight if you opt for the top name brand oem replacements such as fox or king. But since you’re optimizing for weight, I think the money is better spent on a high quality spring first as you can always swap out shocks down the line. A more budget friendly shock setup such as bilstein 6112s up front and a 2.5” smooth body shock in the back will perform very competently, and will still leave room in your budget for some JBA upper control arms.

How much edc weight are you carrying on/in the bed (including hardshell)?

I went with Dobinsons Heavy Leaf's L59-111-R, Archives u bolt flip kit with his bump stops. I have a ARE CX with basic yakima crossbars...combined with the 5th 285/70r17 and edc gear I'm around 335 lbs. I netted 2.75 inches of rear lift over the stock leaf and 1 inch blocks the truck came with.

When I hauled about 2,000+ lbs of firewood rounds the leafs did great and the truck wasn't nose up in the air/hardcore carolina squat (and worse seemingly blinding oncoming traffic with low beams only).

The heavy leaf pack is rated to 800 lbs static load I believe with 2" lift over stock and their about half of a set of deavers. They also have the extra heavy leaf (112 variant).

I am not sure exactly what my everyday weight is but its not enormous. I have an ARE MX topper with a custom rack on top (probably only weighs 50lbs) and a custom drawer bed platform system which is likely around 100lbs plus some everyday gear like straps, tools, hitch ball, etc. I also have RCI skids and sliders on the truck and would love to eventually get a Body Armor Hiline winch mount up front and RCI rear steel bumper.

I have more weight when camping or hauling wood/steel which is when I can feel it hitting the bumps in dips.

I feel like saving up for rebuildable Fox or ADS would be a better bet than going with a 6112 setup. There is also the possibility of a deal over Black Friday this year I guess.

    Thanks for the advice!

Sounds like the topper and rack is probably 240 lbs constant load.

Yeah I hear you on the hauling extra loads/trailer and hitting bumpstops.

I ended up putting the heavy leaf pack on with my stock suspension for about 2 months and that alone stopped the majority of the bump stop hitting frame. Important SAFETY NOTE: It is not advisable to run 2.75 inches of lift in rear on stock shocks (pushing the limits of shock travel).

Going with those suspension options will only further enhance your ride handling.
