2.4" is probably 60mm then. To figure out ID, subtract 2 x material thickness of main leaf.

If it's about 1.575" ID, that is 40mm ID, which is stock. If so, pick up the Energy Suspension bushing kit for leaf springs

Hammer Hangers installed with help from my brother!

Ride quality is improved as advertised and they look sweet. I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend them to others. Like someone once said on the KDMAX thread…don’t be be stupid…just do it!

Removed the exhaust and mud guards for more work space and cut the stock hangers off for better access to the rivets. The bits from Archive did a great job so be sure to get them.

Thanks to all the helpful posts and @ARCHIVE for a sweet product!

I'm getting ready to install the HHs and Deaver leaf pack this weekend. Should I grease the inside and outside of the front leaf spring bushings, or just the inside? They are polyurethane bushings that Deaver sent. I've read a lot of conflicting info so not sure if greasing the outside is necessary since in theory it's a fixed point. I have the Archive shackles with zerk fittings for the rear, so just wondering about the front bushings.

The only part that needs grease is the outside of the metal sleeve and the outer faces of the bushings. The bushings themselves should be locked into place in the leaves and the metal sleeve is what rotates.

I did the outside to get them in, the inside to get the metal bolt tube through them, and the sides of the outside before it goes in the shackle and I have never had an issue......plus.....

So just to clarify, by "outer faces of the bushings" do you mean the part of the bushing that comes in contact with the metal sleeve? I assume that's what you meant given the context of the second sentence.

That's one of my all time favorite movies.

I mean the part of the bushing that comes in contact with the shackle/frame of the truck.

You can put a light coat of grease on the outside of bushing barrel/leaf spring ID to prevent the leaf ID from rusting. But the bushings don't turn inside the spring, the bolt sleeve turns inside the bushings.

The areas to heavily grease are the outer face of the bushings and the inside the bushings

Kudos to @EatSleepTacos for this write up, I referred to it a lot this weekend putting in the HHs. The ball joint press made the bottom rivets a piece of cake. Ended up just drilling out the upper rivets, which wasn't bad at all. I also replaced the leaf pack; overall the rear end feels more planted as others have said and I didnt feel anything flying over some railroad tracks. Smoothies just came in today so those will be going on soon to complete the back.

Heck yeah, I’m glad I was able to help. The hammer hangers are no joke, they really help. When I first got my tundra I hopped on archives site to see if they made HH for the newer tundra because that would’ve gone on the list of things to do. Totally different shackle orientation than the tacoma though so it’s a moot point.

Huge shoutout to Eric at @ARCHIVE for his amazing shock relocation kit! His communication and customer service has been nothing but extraordinary, responsive, and helpful.

I was able to stuff KING 3.0x12" smooth bodies (2.5 reservoir w/ comp adjusters) into the kit without a hitch. The only modification I needed to do was modify a 3/4" wrench for the top shock bolt nut since the 3.0 body is larger it barely provided enough room to get a wrench back there. Everything clears perfectly, measured and installed at full bump (1/2" shock shaft showing) which I can also adjust later on with the King bumpstops.

The photos below show the comparison of 3.0x12" shock to an OEM EXT King shock. As well as the reservoir mounting with the larger resi's. Accutune is who I went through to provide the shocks (waited 9 months), doing their custom "adventure" tune to match the weight of the truck (6500lb's). So far the ride quality is phenomenal, incredibly smooth and very controlled. No testing for high-speed or jumping has been done yet but I'll provide that data in the springtime.

Just broke my 1/4 bit that came with the hangars.
    Fk me.
Got to call my ma who lives 30 minutes away to take me to lowes for more bits.:annoyed:

Got back from lowes and the Cle-line 1/4in 4in high-speed steel twist drill bit seems to be almost exact match other than being slightly longer.
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/CLE-LINE-1-4-in-Black-and-Gold-HSS-Jobber-Drill-Bit-with-3-Flats/1003166966

I managed to get 6 of the 8 holes drilled out before dark.
Gonna be sunny and 70 degrees tomorrow so it should be smooth sailing from here in theory.
Also managed to get a couple of zerks put in the new OEM shackles for the poly bushings.

To clarify this is not in anyway shape or form a lack of quality or construction from Archive. I beat my truck hard and put it through its paces. If it was a stock hanger it would of been towed out. Nothing is indestructible.
