So I just got my 3.6" fabbed shackles, I'm putting them in tonight as I'm moving tomorrow and will be doing a lot of towing, couple questions though:

Aside from being 2x as thick and strong meaning less flex and shudder wobble sway what benefits do they provide?

They have that dog leg in them unlike the factory shackles I assume this prevents the leafs from making contact and binding like they can with the stock shackles, what else?

    More travel?

    Anything else?

Got some 3.6" Archive Fabbed Shackles to replace the last of the chincy in the rear, my factory ones were getting ate up and bendy.

I also loaded the truck down and hitched up the heavily loaded mini utility trailer so we're going to break these things in by seeing how they tow, first time towing with the HH's too.

    So!

    Towing impressions.

    As expected, freaking great.

You hardly know the trailer is back there till you mash the gas and nothing happens.

Same trailer with a smaller load and smaller tires the tail would wag the dog, not anymore.

It's planted and solid trailer stays flat and straight no wondering or sway.

Once again, wish I got the full Archive rear treatment years ago.

My 2010 Tacoma now tow's as good as my Uncle's 2010 Tundra, just with a lot less power.

Pretty stoked so far, less jitters in the rear and better overall ride, excited to see how they tow. Travel seems to be increased as well but I never took any detailed measurements. I got the icon 3 leaf AAL, overload out, 5100s all around, 265/75/16s.

when you say less jitters....like there's a lot of uneven and pot-holed streets around denver. I get a lot more rear end shake than front end on those. These help with that?

They will, but I think the typical jitters are the take off especially in reverse shudders the truck gets like the clutch or transmission is shaking.

The Hammer Hangers definitely help to keep the rear more planted and stable though across rough terrain, even if that terrain is just pot holes.

Because Hammer hangers are much more rigid than stock flexy hangers, the frame and bed don't bounce and jitter like happens with stock hangers. Hh make the rear ride quality better and more compliant, even handling gets sharper with less sway.
