Can anyone give me some input? Looking into either doing archives full shock relo, HH, etc vs doing accutunes tundra fox 2.5 dsc rear shock in stock location with HH. Both would most likely be paired with deavers u402 stage 1 as I rarely carry things in my bed. I will keep a spare, jack, and recovery boards in my bed most of the time and sometimes carry welding gear (argon, machine, etc). My truck is mostly a daily driver but would love to wheel it more in the future. My dilemma is price, being in Hawaii shipping always kills us so I figured buy everything now and my rear end would be perfect or save around $500-1k with the tundra shock route.

We ship most parts free to HI, except for leaf springs but our springs are 10% off right now

Tundra shocks are only 9.4" travel, so you will be short 2.5" of droop compared to 12" shocks, it's definitely a major difference

Good to know thank you. If I do end up going with tundra shocks what shackle would you recommend?

You can reuse stock shackles with Hammer Hangers or upgrade to our 3.6".
You don't need poly bushings for that length shock tho

I finally installed my hammer hangers. It was more of a pain than I expected. "Buy an air hammer", they said, "it will be easy", they said.

    PXL_20250714_202212107.jpg

That is a photo of the air hammer bit stuck in the frame.

It turns out the air hammer only helps a little. The rivets are so mushroomed that they can't really be hammered out when they are through more than one layer of metal. For the horizontal rivets I was able to pop some of them out after removing the stock hanger and grinding the remainder of the rivet flush to the frame. At least one of them still had to be drilled. For the vertical rivets the air hammer was only helpful to free the stock hanger from the rivet. I still had to drill the rivet to get it out of the frame+cross member+welded washer. Luckily I could use my floor jack to put pressure on the drill.

It probably doesn't help that I bought the cheapest air hammer on Amazon. Many people have suggested an air hammer, but those suggestions are usually along the lot of "if you have an air hammer it will make quick work of this, but I don't have one so I'll drill out the rivets." I suspect few people have actually tried it since it's not a super common tool.

After literally hammering on the stock hanger, I am still not convinced that the extra stiffness of the hammer hangers is significant. I do think the high clearance crossbar will help when I eventually get around to relocating the spare tire. And Archive has a nice system of parts that are all designed/tested to work together, so that makes it worth it.

Planning to regrease my shackles later this week, and presume that I need to loosen them up first. I have the correct socket for the shackle bolt, but need to buy an open-end wrench for the inside-facing nut. Does anyone know what size is needed? I'm guessing it's either 23mm, 24mm, or 15/16in. Also, the torque spec is 89ft-lb, correct?

I'm able to grease mine without loosening anything. Just need a quality grease gun fitting.

Correct, we do recommend loosening the bolts slightly to grease, goal being to get grease to the outside face of the bushings.

    It's 7/8" (or 22mm) for our M14 bolts and locknuts and I recommend 100 lb-ft
