I saw a setup like that a couple years ago at OE west. It was pretty need and could be removed and placed on the ground also. I think I like the custom setup I've seen that have poles coming off the front and rear steel bumpers on the side off the truck. It was all custom done, maybe in this thread.

That's exactly like I remember seeing. Once I get a full front bumper I may end up getting something like this done. It really seems like a great setup.

I have spent many a night in my warbonnet. Love sleeping in a hammock. I often go home from camping with my back feeling better then when I arrived.

I concur. This is basically the best mod to the truck...... I may be a bit biased though! :D

Not sure if it needs to be asked, cause you all seem to have it figured out. Do you all hang a string or rope from the support string to shed rain, and keep it from running down the rope to the hammock?

When I need to go minimal, I hammock camp. Got into kayak camping for a while. I love hanging it over water, cliffs, whatever... But I take it dirt bike camping, to the race track and sometimes sling it in my van.

    One of my favorite places:

What kind of poles did you use? I'm looking to do something similar with my front and rear hitch.

I recently tried a little change to make it stronger by being able to use my tree straps and d-rings on the bumpers and added a little "loop" on the end for the straps instead of the clips. For the poles it's 1" solid rod for the part that goes into the bumper, which goes to 1.5" tube (sleeved with 1.25" tube to fit) and then 1.25" tube for the top part. .125" wall. Not sure if that makes sense, but it's revision II and I reused as much as I could. Sounds complicated but I just didn't want to waste anything.

    Definitely stronger now!
