I've been with a few folks who've had hammocks hand made where we go in Guatemala. Made by a bi vocational pastor in the eastern mountain region, colors of your choice. Very comfortable, durable, and for $35, tough to beat. Really more of a leisure hammock than a camping/trail piece. But everyone loves them. If you have a source for something like that (particularly if you travel at all in 3rd world countries) you might want to consider one as a 'day hammock'. I'm thinking I'll bring one back this year.

Not even 400# of tongue weight, if 100% were on that end. Remember the load is shared with the other end of the hammock, it's not all on the vehicle end.

I have a bed extender just like that, and it's quite robust.

But you are correct, trying it is the best way. Get a couple of friends in there while you take pictures. :)

I'm always ready! No trees needed. ;)
Most hammocks seem to fit too!

I totally agree!! The colorful one in the picture above is from nicaragua and was $20. the best hammock I've ever owned was from Ecuador and was only$10. lasted 10 years even being used almost daily and living outdoors 24/7

So just picked up a Junglenest. I'm def digging it, but haven't had the opportunity to spend a bunch of time in it thanks to work and multiple days in a row over 100* outside. I'm all set on hanging it, and setting up a tarp for a rainfly of sorts. What tips/tricks/necessities for the recreational use would ya'll suggest?

Sure am. Held me and my son without issue. Granted I'm only 165lbs and he is only 30lbs. Only issue with doing it this way is the compression of the bed liner and it presses hard against the paint. But other than that it's a sturdy setup. I'll put a bedrack on eventually and tie off that but until then this is my go to set up!

It sounds silly, but I live on a lake and theres a lot of undeveloped, unused wooded property on the other side. My and some buddies are planning on kayaking across and camping over there a few times before going out into the real wilderness
