Changed hand brake cables on my 08 and the brake light is on the dash. Before I dive into it again does anyone know where that switch is? I'm sure it's only an adjustment.

If you have the foot pedal it is under the dash on the pedal linkage.

If you have a pull handle look under the dash on the pull handle linkage. It should be at the bottom end of the shaft.

It should be down at the bottom of the pull rod... I don't have a picture handy.

Couldn't find one super descriptive, but should be right under the locking arm assembly

What else besides that switch might cause that light not to go off?

About the only thing would be a direct short to ground; pretty simple circuit.

Ok that's cool if that sensor is defective that will do it too I guess. I should be able to bypass or test that as well.

Doesn't that activate the "Brake" light as opposed to the "P" for parking-brake, or is there only one light on second-generation trucks?

No "P" light. Just "Brake" and "ABS"

Low brake fluid level will turn on the red brake warning light and amber ABS light and also TCS light if equipped.

Did I also read somewhere that rear brakes out of adjustment will also put that light on?

Crawl back under there and look at the switch, is it bent or broken? Is the wire rubbed through or damaged?

I was under there last night. You need to be a worm to get in there. Switch looks ok. If I have to do anything with it I will have to take out front seat to get at it.
I'm just trying to eliminate everything else it could possibly be first

So what lights do you have, just the red brake light or brake and abs lights?

I have both lights on. I damaged one of the abs sensors when I changed my front wheel bearing. But I have that replaced now. Both lights are on.

If both lights are on it is Not the park brake switch, if your brake fluid is full you need to get the ABS codes read and see what they are. You can try disconnecting the battery and see if it clears but if it doesn't you need the trouble code(s) to continue
