@Leggo my brother I understand and feel your pain MS is a tuff battle it's not cheap just hand controls could run over a 1000$ and I tell you in the last 15 yrs I've been dealing with any kind of medical business they re all crooks so pick and choose if you find some one good and ain't just in it for money which is 99 .99% of medical business stick with them.

Now that you show the air bag, they didn't actually cut the dash, they just removed the airbag. IF they did any cutting, it will under the dash and will be covered when the controls are removed and the air bag put back in. the ones I showed are the same brand and they are what they call "permanent mount" They angle of the picture just makes it look like they hang down low. They are mounted higher than any other cars I have done. Technically, you have to have an endorsement on you drivers license to drive a vehicle equipped with hand controls. The feds have really enforced the placement of the warning stickers stating so:rofl:

Toyota has a rebate for hand controls on new vehicles. Hope you used it. I think it was $1000 reimbursement

I realize this thread is over two years old but I have looked everywhere for more info and this thread is all I keep coming back to. I am looking to install my own permanent hand controls on my '18 TRD OR. Can I simply unplug and unbolt my under dash airbag ignorer to install my controls? Will unplugging the airbag create a need for any reprogramming or set off a bunch of warning lights? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!
