Hello, Im new to tacoma world but not new to the Taco. Today after a day of steelhead fishing I came hope to my E brake not working. Im not rough on the truck at all because of the stock tires. It is an 2009 Reg cab. M/T 4x4. I have no clue why the E brake would stop working. I pull the handle out and the truck still rolls forward. I know I can keep it in gear too, but I don't really trust on some hills. Would love to get the E brake functioning again. Any help would be much appreciated!!

Do you feel any resistance at all when you pull it? Check the cables going from the brake handle to the rear drum brakes.

    Do you use it frequently?

I use mine every time I park, as well as leaving it parked in gear.

I use it pretty frequently as well. And there is a some tension towards the end of the pull. So I'm thinking something may have loosened or stretched. All great answers, I'll pull it into the shop later today when I have time, and check the mentioned things out. Thanks for all the replies! Will post and update later tonight.....

sorry for the late reply been busy with work, but i figured out that the cables had stretched and were loose, so i tightened them up. It was also sticking when not applied so fixed that too. Thank you for all the help, and replies!!
