Debating on selling my BFGs with under 10k and swapping to the Hankooks. I do mostly freeway driving and hauling lumber for work. I have no issues with the BFGs other then they are heavy tires. The Dynapro is 6lbs lighter in P rated and a little softer for a better ride then the BfGs in C rating.

Am I going to be wasting money selling these and switching to the Hankook? I've real a lot of good things about the Hankook and they are priced very well. I figure I would only be out of pocket maybe 200-300 if I make the switch.

I have the Hankooks and they are worse than the stock tires IMO. They blow in the snow we got the last 2 winters and don't grab the dry or wet roads as well. I'd say keep your BFGs and run them til they're dead. Then avoid the Hankooks.

Just got the hankook ATMs in 275/70/17 and they have been great so far 10k miles... I also ran BFGs, both good tires.

For an extra ~25lbs. I would just stick with what you already have.

It's not like carrying 25lbs in the bed, wheel weight makes a difference.

My experience is vastly different - I love my Hankooks, especially in the winter. Maybe it's our snow type, but my snow and ice traction is WAY better than the Goodyears I had before.

I've ran both and I prefer BFG...of course I don't have snow or rain to deal with either.

With all due respect, that's a huge pile of B/S from my experience. You must not of had a good batch of Dynapro ATm because they are FAR better than the stock dunflops. In fact I'd have to ask Canadian Tire for there worst piece of rubber to find something worse than a Dunflop.

As for comparing them to BFG's, I personally will never ever run BFG's in my life again. Sure, they're pretty, but they chunk up like shit on gravel. I liked the tread for the short time I had them, I'll admit that's well designed. Well, other than the fact that I had them showing belting after 15 K on my old 2010 F150, even though they were the LT version . Screw that, any tire that wears like that has some serious flaws.

We run Hankook Dynapro, Toyo Open Country, Toyo M55's, Yokohama Geolander, and Michelin LTX/2 (the last one's only on hiway only 3/4 tons). My business will never touch a BFG tire again, and if they are in stock we always put on either the Dynapro's or the M55's depending on what the truck will be used for.

That all being said, the OP should run the tires he has into the ground before buying new ones. If you have a good dealer and they do wear bad you should be able to get a hefty discount on any new tire. That's what I did, I waited until they looked third world style then gave my local tire place the gears. They gave me next to new value on them, my Hankooks were almost free :).

I'm running 265/70/17 with ome 883 springs up front to level my access cab. My billies are set to 0 and I had to do some trimming of the mud flaps because of slight rubbing. Here is a picture for reference.

I'm leaning towards selling the BFG tires and getting the Hankooks. It would be a weight savings of ~10% and also a little better ride during my daily commute. The Hankook would still handle any dirt/gravel roads and rain just fine.

Yup, 265/70/17 P-rated. I have 5100s, set at 0.85" in the front. I was running these tires on no lift before, though, without any issues.

I have the ATMs in 265/70/17 with 884s. I love them. Gas has been good, winter driving was fine up here in VT. I got them for $592 shipped from here.

They are. Here's another pic right after getting the 5100's installed (ignore what looks like a lean, I was on a slope). Back when the truck was in one piece..
