Have you considered adjusting the air pressure? Is the TRAC system on?

Ive run the same pressure since I bought them and the difference from new to now is crazy. TRAC is on and I drive like an old man. The tires as they aged have lost all wet grip. I have been reading about other tires this morning and the same complains are being mentioned with the Cooper AT3 tires. After 2-3 years of aging they also lose grip in wet/rain. I think I am going to try the Falken Wildpeak tires next.

Sure, but try dropping the pressure in the meantime. My tires generally are replaced before 40,000 miles as there is just not enough 'meat' still on them in my opinion.
I run the Dynapros at 34 psi on pavement; 24 on dirt/ rocks; 18 in sand.
Maybe drop them to 29 (or less) and see if that helps them grip better on wet pavement when your truck is empty?

Just got rid of my P-rated Dynapros 265/75/16 tires. Drove them for 35,000 miles (rotated every 5k) and these were really terrible by the end. They still had a good bit of tread left, but they had developed a significant road hum at all speeds (especially coming to a full stop). They also pulse while coming to a full stop, as if they were cupped oddly. Also had zero rain traction on pavement.

One tire finally picked up a shard of metal which was the catalyst for the swap. These tires did not make it nearly as far as I had hoped.

Mostly a pavement life spent at 35psi. Some mild off-roading, one NE winter, and a day trip down the Chappy beach...

My advice is there are better tires out there. I am now riding the Cooper AT3 Load C...

It’s ironic that @gimmeajo & @Thegenerik1 just posted about poor performance with wear, because I came here to post about the recent AAA article that YouTube’s Engineering Explained reviewed.

In short, AAA looked at 3 cheap tires and 3 expensive tires to see if performance could be linked to price. They also tested brand new and artificially worn down tires. On the F150 test vehicle, the Dynapro was one of the cheap tires and it did surprisingly well in most tests.

This makes me feel a little better about my choice to put these on both my truck and wife’s T4R.

They were great for the first couple years. But once they aged they went to shit. If you drive a lot and will wear them out in 2-3 years then go for it. If you don’t drive a lot planning to change then before you ever wear out the tread.

I talked with 2 people at work that have Dnapro's they have been real happy with them . The only thing they said was to keep um rotated. So, I put them on my truck. I have 255/75/17.

Gotcha, so you think it’s the age not necessarily the wear/tread depth. Certainly possible.
Thankfully for us, my wife drives a lot so she’ll run th m down in 3yr. I may take a little longer but that’ll just give me an excuse to go bigger :)

Yeah, it was the age that made the traction go away as they still had plenty of tread left.

While I love the DynaPro's great traction in mud or snow/ floatation in sand/ quietness/ looks... I have had a few flat tires (which could purely be from where I drive, but didn't get as many flats as other brands). That is not a problem I have, except that Discount Tire wants to give me new DynaPros each time (+$20 warranty renewal) so I am totally unsure how many miles these are lasting, lol! I may never need new tires again (as long as I get a sidewall flat or a Mexican repaired flat before they wear out)!

40k+ miles and still get it done on and off road. Plenty of sand, rock, and gravel conditions and they still perform excellent til this day. No issues with punctures either and that with P-rated tires! Just think the possibility with LT- rated tires

Looking at the Hankook ATM AT tires to replace my BFG All Terrains. I like the All Terrains except for the price ($450 a pair) and the fact that they are cracking on the sidewall like crazy. There is still tread left on the tire but I don't trust them on long trips anymore because of these cracks.

Even though I do 98% of driving on pavement I still want an All Terrain tire for looks and for the few times that I take the kayak out to reservoirs in the Sierras on pot holed gravel roads.

I just recently bought a new rPod 20ft travel trailer and need to get some new tires ASAP. Would the Hankooks be a good choice? I like the price. I only drive about 8,000 miles a year, give or take.

Here's a pic of my BFG tires. Approx 35 to 40 k and six years old.IMG_0739.jpg

Can get these on ebay with 15% discount for ~$90/ea

Seems like they'd be worth it at that price, even if they harden up with age.

I had a coupon from eBay for 15% off and the tires were 8% off.

Looks like they're now 10% off but the coupon expired. Might sign up for eBay emails and see if they send out another one.

I had one that expired yesterday.

2 years later I'm still loving mine. Have about 30k miles on them and they still have a very nice amount of tread left. Next go-round I'm probably going to pick up something a bit more aggressive, but for a daily-driver it's really hard to beat the value these Hankook's offer.
