My 265/75/16 DynaPro ATMs are about dead and I've been shopping and shopping and reading review after review looking for new tires to go on a new set of 17x9 soft 8s that I will be getting soon (Black Rock Type 997) all within a tight budget (full-time student here...). I've gone from considering the DynaPro MTs to the Terra Grapplers to Falken WildPeaks and to the Fierce Attitudes (despite the name) all in the 285/70/R17 size.

I was seriously considering the Attitudes for a while and then read some scary reviews of their POOR longevity and tendency to blow-out unexpectedly... All the aggressive tires I REALLY liked are too expensive. SO, finally, I have, with the help of this great thread, I've decided to go for the DynaPro MTs (AKA "pulling the trigger")! Thanks guys for all the comments and very helpful input!

Ive been wheeling like crazy in all terrains, and going on road trips, so far so good, really like these tires!

Been about 2K miles since I installed my Duratracs and it seems like the hot 90*+ weather is prematurely wearing the soft tire rubber

They are OK in snow , less than awesome on icy surfaces

I am running 285/75/16 Hankook Dynapro MT's and like them. They are one of the quieter MT Tires I've driven on. This is my first set so i have no idea how well they will hold up...I am primarily on street as this is my daily driver.

Second this...I switched from the DT's to the Dynapro's and can say the road noise is nearly identical between the two.

The DT are great in the snow and personally I think they are an ok tire. However, I (like most people here) drive off-road, miles from civilization, and the repeated threads on TW about slashed side walls was enough to make me want to switch them out. The Dynapro's have great reviews and a solid price point, and so far I have not been disappointed.

What if I make the duratracs the dedicated winter tire? If I get them, they will be studded and I plan on just using them in the winter then switching over to Kevlars in the summer.

Always heard great things about the Hankook MT, very under rated. I have never ran them, just put a set of Duratracs on a few weeks ago. Their great so far.

I had the Hankook MT on my truck for about 3 years , I really liked it and interestingly they were better in the wet coastal snow we get out here than my Hankook ATm's I currently run

A little bit of a bump. Hankook DynaPro MTs are awesome. I've been using them for about 8 years on various trucks I've owned (mostly full sized Ford Super Duty trucks). I just ordered a pair of 285/70/17's for my Tacoma to go with the 3" lift I just ordered and I can't wait to put them on. GREAT tires that wear well, are good on the highway, and tear right through the snow.

Here's a pic of my old 37/12.5/17's on my '05 Ford.
