    The Coast Guard was established

    Created by Congress on 4 August 1790 at the request of Alexander Hamilton as the "Revenue Marine", it is the oldest continuous seagoing service of the United States.

    One of my best friends is a retired "Coastie".

    I've seen the production line for those boats. Pretty impressive. They start two at a time and run them down a line. All the parts are pre cut and shipped to the facility, once they are all tacked together they put them on a jig that rotates so the welder doesn't have to climb all over the boat to weld it together. I remember when they were out running tests on them in the Sound.

    Less than 3 years and the Chiefs will celebrate 100 years
