I've had mine for several months now (used/completely stock). Originally bought it solely for basic transportation and the ability to carry what the wife's jeep couldn't. Got a great deal on it with low miles. Besides, I had made up my mind after my last new truck that the prices of brand new full-size trucks are simply out of control, and I don't agree with the political leanings of the UAW. And I'm not paying an $800/mo. bank note.

Having owned an SR5 p/u back in the 90's, and having had nothing but full-size trucks since, I knew what I was getting. Like an earlier poster stated -- it's a truck/tool, not an idol. Well said. I've grown to realize that *I* don't *need* 400-hp. I don't need 10,000-lbs.+ towing capacity. I don't *want* an $800/mo. bank note for something that *I* don't need. Besides all of the extra costs associated -- shitty gas mileage, higher insurance premiums, etc.

So anyway, I've grown to like the Tacoma the more I use it. In the little time I've had it I've added a camper top and some beefier tires, and it's turning out to be the perfect daily driver/off-road/hunting rig. Love the gas mileage (and I don't baby it) and overall durability. Plus, knowing what I know about Toyota (the company) and how well they treat/pay their employees (non-UAW), and that it's made just down the road from me in a freedom-loving State. I'm more than happy to provide my support and buy their product (albeit used).

The grass is not always greener. There's a reason why these trucks are king in re-sale value.

It has its quirks, yes. But I love the truck.

This one drives way better than my 84,86,87, and 93 ever did. However, I don't feel like the build quality and refinement indicated by the price matches up with expectations. This one is just as noisy as my trucks that had 200k+ miles on them.

My insurance premium actually dropped replacing my '16 GTI with the '18 Tacoma. :headbang:

Don't want to answer for someone else, but I believe the issue is not complaining to the dealership or Toyota Corp, but complaining on TW, repeatedly....ad infinitum.... doesn't really solve any problems imo.

    What? It's not a truck?

    Wow....what a startling turn of events....lol

How can it be a truck? Or anything built by a robot that’s built by humans? Things that humans build have flaws. This magical mechanical unicorn is the work of aliens. Hmm, they must all be the same physical build though. Only way to explain the marginal adjustment range of the seats and steering column. Oh oh I know, they’re clones! You know, since we’re speaking nonsense and all.

I LOVE my truck too! TSB 62-18 took care of my only complaint. Hitting the trails is more fun than I imagined! Lots of adventures ahead!

TW ruined the relationship with my stock Tacoma. I loved it when I bought it and then I found this site. All the dirty trucks with plastic surgery, bigger tires, better grills, nicer legs, and leather seats made me poorer and addicted to truck porn and mods. I am now in love with my modified Tacoma - for now anyways.

I’m sure I’ll get rid of it thinking a new one will be better and then regretting it and wanting my old one back.

Such is life fellas. Enjoy what you have!

My 2010 DC Off Road 4x4 (automatic) is amazing... but so was my 2001 (and the 2005 was not too bad).
Naturally, the longer I drive it the more things may break... but overall, no complaints.
This year, the button that opens the center compartment broke.
Last year, the left-rear brake shoe mount broke.
Three years ago, the front-left hub bearings needed replacing.
    So, it's getting better!

Can't complain. I love my 18 TRD Pro. I've owned 6 Toyota pick-ups over the last 30 years and I wouldn't own anything else.

Her: "Are you fucking reading about trucks again?!"
    Me: "Uh, yeah."
Her: "WTF, look at boobs like you're supposed to."

I had a 2007 FJ Cruiser and a 2015 TRD Pro 4RUNNER before my 2018 Tacoma. They were both great vehicles with zero issues. I loved the 3rd gen Tacoma when it came out and began researching it via the interwebs for nearly two years. I test drove it almost a year ago and right then and there traded in my 4RUNNER. It’s everything I expected and more. I love this truck!

I'm more happier with my bearded '19 SR than a buzzard on a gut wagon. :)

Nope. Leave it as it is. For now. Can you get that body molding piece to replace the black plastic I wonder?
