    Hello TW'ers,

I have been reading and browsing the site s lot lately and is now officially a Tacoma owner. I have owned a 2002 4Runner Sport Edition in Thundercloud Metallic 4WD for 8.5 years, regretted ever since I sold it in late 2010. I then bought a 2012 Camry SE thinking it will drive better and also saves on gas. Did not like the Camry after about a year, sold it at lost. I then bought a Lexus RX450h. Love the technologies, the gas mileage and the stealth mode when driving in electric mode only. Somehow, I was annoyed by the little creaks and squeaks this car gives me. Since it is so quiet, every little creaks and squeaks are noticed. I finally bit the bullet and sold it at lost.

Enter the new Tacoma. I was looking around for a slightly used one since a NEW redesign version is just around the corner. I could not justify to pay for around $25k-$28k for a 09-11 with more than 40k miles on it. But I also don't want to spend too much $$$$ on the truck since I have wasted so much money on cars/SUVs (bought a 2007 Lexus IS in 12/2006, bought a Lexus RX350 in 2/2010 and a 2011 Camry in 9/2010 and bought a 2010 RX450h in 1/2012. Still have the RX350 though).

After 2 months of looking for used I finally decided to go with a new one instead. Either a 12 or 13 would do it. Must be DC, V6, Auto, and TRD Sport (ahhhhhhh the skewp, the 2002 4Runner Sport Edition has the SKEWP). It first I mainly looked for 4WD since I live in Nebraska and it it snows but after reading more and more it seems the auto LSD and VSC in the RWD can do fine (if you know how to drive in snow). beside, I rarely used the 4WD in the 4Runner unless I go play with mud and deep snow. I however don't do that anymore and no more "off roading" in NE anyway.

I finally bought a 2012 Tacoma DC LB White V6 with TRD Sport. I got the truck for $25k even on a MSRP of $29495 so I think I did OK.

Am I in trouble for getting a rwd truck in Nebraska and winter is coming? I hope not but we just have to wait and see.

    Thank you all for reading.

Welcome and nice truck...i would of gone with the 4x4. I have a slight incline on my way to my house i have to stop if there on coming traffic then make my way up. When I lose momentum in the snow climbing up a grade my wheels start spinning and yes I know how to drive in the snow been doing it for years anyways I have to use 4x4, but hopefully your never in that sitiuation.

Looks good, enjoy it. A little weight will take care of most of the issues.
