Harbor freight 2 ton jack won’t get my front wheels off the ground

Anybody else have this problem? Did you spring for the 3 ton?

 

or do you just jack from the control arm? Thanks!

 

You're good to jack it up from the control arm.

 

It keepa sliding. Where do you put the jack stand?

 

Please clarify: are you talking about a bottle jack? Is the elevator not extending out/up enough? Then you just put a board underneath the jack. preferably a 2x6
Or are you saying the jack is not strong enough to lift your Tacoma
If you are talking floor jack, you need to but a block of wood at the top at the contact point..and if it is sliding you probably need to get someone who knows what they are doing to help you. Be careful

 

no it’s not a bottle jack. I’m talking about a harbor freight 2 ton jack. When I put it under the jacking point in the front of the truck and fully extend it, it does not get the front tires off the ground. a piece of wood would definitely give me just enough clearance. That’s a good idea.
