I’m looking at purchasing the HF “Pelican-like” storage cases for watertight storage while camping.
Anyone had any luck with them?

Their "Apache" series cases? Yeah, I know a couple of people who have them including one my father uses for some equipment. The foam doesn't seem to be quite as good as the name brand cases but still good enough for most uses (certainly better than the Plano foam which is way too squishy), the latches don't seem like they're as high a quality and you need to leave them open in the garage for at least a couple of days to get the ChinaFreight smell out (let them off-gas). I wouldn't use them for shipping expensive delicate equipment but for most uses they're fine. I have no idea how UV resistant they are; I don't leave any of my Pelicans outside but do use them in the sun and haven't had any real color shift and I know that I can get replacement latches for the Pelicans if needed.

You used to be able to find used Pelicans on ebay for decent prices but anymore ebay's retarded policies have made them about unusable; also check mil surplus stores, they sometimes have them, especially the larger sizes.

    Like, so many.
I've got a couple and really like them. The videographer at my job uses them for cameras and lenses.

For truck stuff they work great. Keep my tire chains in one, and a portable 4500 winch in another. I wouldn’t keep my night vision or thermal in one to get banged around.
